About
I’m Monica, stay at home mom to some pretty incredible kids if you ask me. Kylie and Colt are twins, six years old, and almost finished with Kindergarten. Macie is four and we’re having a great time being pals while the twins are in school. We have another daughter, Nikka, who just turned 13 and boy does she act every bit of it lol.
Jeff and I have been married eight years. Eight long years on some days, and eight years that feel like eight weeks on others. We’ve definitely had some ups and downs but if you haven’t, you’re not normal, ha ha. He is a contractor and avid golfer, things are a bit strange right now because he is living in Georgia and working on his dream project, a golf course development. Imagine that, working until 2pm every day and then he gets to play golf. A guy just can’t ask for more, other than to have his family with him, which we’re working on. We’re planning on spending the summer there but as far as a permanent move….ask me another day. There are still lots of loose ends that need to be tied up here. The hope is to get them done and be gone by the beginning of June but thats as far as our plan goes.
Our kids never cease to amaze me, and on my worst day I am so very, very blessed that the Lord thought I was worthy to be entrusted with them. My goals as a mom are to raise children who first and foremost love God and seek a life pleasing to him, whatever that might be for each of them. Secondly, I hope to instill a strong sense of self in each of them, that they may know who they are and what they stand for and be unwaveringly confidant in that. Thirdly, I hope I don’t screw up too much along the way so that somewhere down the road, when I am a grandma, they still want to associate with me lol.
That about sums me up, other than raising our children I occupy myself with our animals….right now 11 horses and three dogs. I’m also very active at my church, the same church I grew up in. There is something very warm and fuzzy about that :) I try to get out once in awhile to hit some golf balls (yes, I have the bug too) and scrapbook, or just enjoy lunch with a friend.
There is a lot of change in the air right now, and I don’t know much past the next few months, but someone recently reminded me of the saying “Gods will won’t ever take you where Gods grace will not protect you”, and I’m choosing to live believing that right now.
