apparently she is behind in rent and her landlord confronted her yesterday. when she couldn't pay they called the cops and she was told she has 48hrs to vacate the premises. she called this morning in tears telling me she couldn't come and what happened. she has a friend to stay with about 30 minutes from me but that would be a 2hr bus ride for her. i asked how i get her the pay for this week and she told me to keep it because she felt bad. this poor lady has been so good to the kids. never asking for more when the 4 are home in the summer. Kaleigh is gonna be heartbroken
i had no idea her situation was so bad. we have cut her hours a bit since dh hasn't been working but she is the one who left every time he walked in the door. i wish she just would have talked to me!
ZandersMama replied: that sucks, ya really never know whats going on in someones life eh.
mummy2girls replied: awww man that sucks! Im so sorry!
sparkys2boys replied: Oh no, that's so sad. I hope she can get it all worked out
lisar replied: Sorry to hear about that. Maybe you can still meet up with her every now and then to see the kids.
gr33n3y3z replied: That really sucks bc I remember you telling me she was very good to the kids
grapfruit replied: Had she already received an eviction notice? B/c I thought to evict like that they had to give like a 30 day notice. Maybe that's just in OH though....Like the land lord posts a notice and then if you don't evict the police show up and give you 48 hrs or they forcible evict you....
I don't know, honestly.
I'm sorry. It's a bummer for sure.
kimberley replied: sadly, basement apartments are illegal and not protected by the Lanlord/Tenant Act. this is someone's home and she was renting the basement. the cops said it's their house and their right. same as throwing out a rotten teenage child.
i hope she does stay in touch.
MommyToAshley replied: Ah man, the enitre situation just sucks. I feel bad for her, she sounds like a great person. There's not many people that would tell you to keep the pay when they are in that tight of a spot, she must of felt really bad about having to leave on such short notice. Good babysitters are hard to find. I hope things work out for her and you are able to find another good sitter.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Oh I'm sorry!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh that's so hard. Is there any way you can provide room and board? I know you have a busy home as it is, but just an idea. A friend of mine was a live-in nanny once. It's a win win if you have the room!
A&A'smommy replied: that sucks so bad!!! I'm sorry!!
cameragirl21 replied: I'm really sorry to hear that, K. Would it be possible for her to be a live in with you? That way you have round the clock help and she wouldn't have to worry about paying rent, just keep her salary the same? It's very common down here in S Florida for families to have a live in.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Kimberley, that is just awful! I remember you telling me how much the kids loved their sitter! I hope things work out for her!
kimberley replied: thanks everyone. sadly, i don't have the room to have her live in. i am going to try calling her again next week but i doubt it will change anything. it's just too far where she is going.
