Ohhh...you are right, there are sooo many. Her first smile, her first bite of cereal, her first raspberry, her first real laugh. But, I don't think anything will compare to her birthday! There is not a word in the dictionary that can describe how much love I felt the first time I saw her and held her. I get teary-eyed just thinking about it now. I cry everytime I watch the video TLCDad made of her birthday.

Of course I want her to be successful, what mommy doesn't want that for their child. But, honestly, I just hope that she is happy and healthy. She can grow up to do anything she wants to do, and I think with her strong personality, she would do that anyways. LOL.

I do hope that we are always close and have a special bond, even in those teenage years.

Her nursery was actually decorated for a second office before I got PG. So, it had brand new hunter green carpet, and brand new hunter green marbled wall-paper half way up the wall and then there's a chair rail, and the top of the walls are white. Soooo, we had to pick something that went with hunter green, LOL. We went with a pink ballerina bear theme. It's a bear wearing a ballerina dress holding ballerina slippers, and there are pink hearts in the bedding and on the walls as well. She has a big stuffed ballerina bear that is on the wall over her changing table. When I am done changing her, she loves to stand up and play with the ballerina slippers.

She knows what she is aloud to have and not allowed to have. I think her favorite thing to try to do is to get the remote control, laptop,or camcorder. hehe. If she sees it, she tries to be sneaky. She will cruise/crawl towards it and then look up at us to see if we are looking, then move some more, then look up again. Then when she gets close, she will go really fast for it and giggle! It's sooo cute.

There are things she REALLY KNOWS that she is not suppose to touch. She had pulled the baby proof outlet covers out of the socket by digging her finger nails under them. The other day, she went towards the outlet again, and Daddy said in a really stern voice "NO!" She cried so hard, but she hasn't gone towards the outlet again.

We haven't let her near the stairs yet. But, I guess it is time to let her try (with Mommy right behind her, of course)

Her bangs are long now and starting to get in her eyes. I am trying to keep them pulled over to the side, but bows won't stay in her hair. If her hair keeps getting in her eyes, then I might have to cut her bangs, but I won't cut the rest of it. I want her to have long hair.

She was actually due Labor Day (Sept 1) LOL But, I ended up being induced on the 4th.

We knew almost from the first U/S that she was a girl. We had 6 different U/S so we were pretty confident that it was safe to buy pink.

That's really up to Ashley. However, she loves music and loves to "shake her booty" all the time. If she keeps the interest in music, we might enroll her in music or dance lessons.

I don't think I could leave her for that many hours.... my heart would break!!! But, if I absolutely had to, I would probably get a babysitter. I would have my MIL or Mother do it, but since you said no family... well, there is maybe one or two friends I would trust to watch her.

Her Stats at her last appt:

19.8 lbs (she lost weight)
28 -3/4 inches
(75% for both height and weight)

What she likes to eat:
I think her favorite thing is little cubes of bananas (but she has to have them in moderation)
She likes anything, but she loves table food. She likes mommy's spaghetti and watermellon a lot too. But, her favorite thing is still BM.

She doesn't like:
She didn't like baby food carrots, but she loves steamed carrots.
She had a tiny taste of daddy's salsa (just a drop on her lip) and she made a really yucky face. LOL

She's been cruisin' for awhile. She will walk all around the furniture and she will even let go for a few seconds.

hmmm.. I will have TLCDad answer this one. He is the big kid. LOL.

But, she likes the one with the big red dog, Clifford. ANd, she likes Sesame Street.

SHe will shake her booty to just about anything... TV commercials, her toys, mommy or daddy's singing, any song on the radio. But, I think her favorite is reggae...LOL.

When she was really young, only a month old or so, the sure way to calm her down was to play the song "Underneath It All" by No Doubt.

She doesn't really have a favorite yet. She likes things that make noise or music so she can do her favorite thing and shake her booty. LOL. Shes likes this ball that plays musice when you bump it, she likes her bouncin' tigger, and her shake 'n rattle pooh. She likes her new toy, rockin' zoe.

She also likes activity boxes, like the learn 'n play laptop and the activity box on her crib.

But, she will almost always go for a book first.

Sometimes socks, depends on temperature outside. She won't have anything to do with shoes! She's barefoot a lot.

She still BF about every two hours during the day (including after eating solids). She will BF before going to bed at night and then usually once in the middle of the night.

Actually I do not watch cartoons. Well, ok not much But I do like computer animation (no suprise there, eh) so I hope she will like them as well. I really enjoyed (although still need to finish watchin it) the Final Fantasy movie.

Actually so far, there has been very few times I was out with her without Dee Dee (vice versa too). Since we both work at home, it allows us to go do things together. But I believe I would find it hard to do somethings without her.

What are you doing for Ashleys first b-day? What type of theme will you do? It may be a couple months away but I already started thinking about Chloes LOL

I admit, I do not do the diper changing, feeding, etc as much as mommy but I do them often Lately my main duties have been helping her fall asleep for nap time and watching her when she naps on the couch or on the bed. I have also been the one to go and help her back to sleep when she wakes up during the night, unless she wants to nurse (which is usually once during the middle of the night).

Since she has been more playful on her own now, I tend to sit downstairs and work on my notebook pc, while I watch her.... Its time to get another notebook so we both can work down here at the same time.

Diapers:
Ahsley will wear Pampers or CVS brand. I actually like the CVS brand better...no leaks.

Wipes:
CVS brand. TLCDad does not like the way the other wipes smell. And, the CVS have some newborn wipes that are cloth like, really soft.

On her bum:
I use nothing or aquaphor.

I don't mind the questions at all... especially since I get to talk about my favorite subject -- Ashley!

Thanks... I think she's cute too, but then again, I may be biased. hehe.

We haven't made any definite plans for the 1st birthday yet. We will most likely do a barbecue here at the house since she is really too small for Chucky Cheese or anything like that. I am looking for ideas if anyone has any suggestions. I still can't believe she will be 1 year old in 2-1/2 months!!!

Ashley takes a bath in the regular bathtub. We use the Johnson Nightime bath. She gets bubbles once or twice a week, and she always has lots of toys in there with her. She has learned that if she shakes her booty in the bathtub, then so do all of her toys! LOL. She has also started playing with her shadow on the side of the bathtub. She always has a great time in the bath...laughin', gigglin', and lots of splashin'... I think it is her favorite time of the day.

She does have a bedtime routine/schedule. She eats dinner at 7:30. We read books and do quite time together until about 8:15. Then she gets her bath. She gets a baby massage and jammies on. Then she nurses. I lay her in bed and sing to her and she goes to sleep. (usually by 9:30)

She doesn't take a pacifier. She will play with it, try to bite it. When she was younger, I tried to give her a pacifier and she would take it out of her mouth and try to stick it in my mouth. LOL ... As if to say, "I don't want this thing, you take it"

I am not sure if she has night terrors or just wakes up out of habit. She will wake up once or twice a night crying. DH usually goes in there and pats her bum and she falls right back to sleep. (If I go in there, she will want to nurse) There are times when she will cry out in her sleep or moan a little and then put herself back to sleep too. How do you know if she is having night terrors?

Unconsolable crying. High pitched, Kinda like a real gassy cry. It's very upsetting and they seem petrified.

Thanks for the compliment. Some people have suggested it, but I have mixed feelings on the subject. If it were only once in awhile and she could earn money for her college account, then maybe yes. But, I really want her to be a baby and just enjoy being a baby! Besides, there isn't much work for baby models in Dayton, OH. hehe.

When she gets older, if that is something that interests her, then I would encourage her to follow her interest. But, I would never push her into doing it.

She does love to have her picture taken though. Almost as much as she loves looking at her pictures. hehe
