| Name: | Sophia Cameron | | Birthdate: | September 4, 2002 | | Parents: | Amy and Shawn | Favorite Toy/Activity: Sophia loves to play with her puppy, Buddha. She's also facinated with remote controls, telephones and Mommy's digital camera... not a good thing!
Latest Achievement: Sophia is learning tons of new words and phrases. Her newest is "thank you" which she regularly uses in context! We're so proud :)
Other Information: Before she was born, I could never have dreamed I would feel the way I do about Sophia. The love is indescribable - pure, everlasting and deep. She is such a joy, and I am so lucky she chose me to be her Mama.

kimberley replied: how is she around other babies? Sophia is such a beautiful name! is she named after someone? what is the funniest thing she does? is she ticklish? what is her favorite food?
coasterqueen replied: Does Sophia use a fork and spoon well? Is she a messy eater, getting everything on the floor and on herself or is she neat and clean ? Is she a momma's girl or a daddy's girl?
amynicole21 replied: I'm not sure that Sophia has a favorite color herself, but I sure love the way she looks in pink and in red
Sophia loves the lift the flap book "Spiderman at the Park" My sister got it for her for Christmas because DH is a super hero freak, and it turns out that Sophia is too Of course, she has torn off all of the flaps, but she still likes to read it.
Sophia and I love to take spins around the driveway on her big wheel. I have to push her still, but she can't get enough of it!
She's fairly girly I think. She loves her dolls and shoes and having her hair done.
kit_kats_mom replied: Does she have a favorite food?
What do you think she will be when she grows up?
Give us 10 words that describe Sophia.
Give us 10 words/phrases that describe a day with Sophia...from your perspective (Ex: exhausting, messy, filled with kisses)
Is she a lover or a fighter?
amynicole21 replied: Her favorite food is pizza, followed by any kind of cracker or chip
She has watched sesame street before, but really doesn't ahve the attention span to get really into it just yet.
She has been to Pennsylvania to visit her grandparents twice, but that's it so far. We may be taking a trip in a few months to Austin to visit my friend and her new baby
amynicole21 replied: Sophia has one cousin only - Malik who will be 6 in April. He loves her to pieces, and she follows him around everywhere he goes calling Meek Meek!
Her room has the theme of little lambs. The walls are light yellow on top and beige on bottom, with metallic gold swirly things painted every so often.
amynicole21 replied: Sophia LOVES babies! She goes into the infant room at daycare and "helps" the teachers by giving babies pacis that have fallen on the floor, or pushing them in the swings
We decided on Sophia's name after hearing it on a tv program. She isn't named after anyone in particular, but we just loved it and instantly agreed upon it.
She loves to give raspberries - especially on my tummy. I think it's because my belly is so soft and flabby She'll spit all over me trying to make the rasperry sound and I laugh uncontrollably the whole time
She is ticklish all over - she is very cute when you tickle her and she giggles like a mad person!
amynicole21 replied: She can use a spoon pretty well, but mostly uses the fork like it's a spoon - scooping up food with it rather than stabbing. Most of the time she gets frustrated with the spoon and just uses her fingers - especially with yogurt
She is VERY messy when she eats! She thinks it's great to smear yogurt and spaghetti sauce in her hair.
Definitely a daddy's girl... except when she wants to nurse anyway
amynicole21 replied: She loves pizza, crackers, chips and pretzles
Hmmmm.... I have no idea what she'll be when she grows up! She loves doggies and kitties ... maybe a vet!
10 words to describe her: beautiful , intelligent, talkative, silly, caring, gentle (sometimes), inquisitive, snuggly, adventurous and spaz
10 phrases to descibe my days with her: messy, lots of chasing around the house, BABY EINSTEIN!!, nursing nursing nursing, snuggly, battle (especially around diaper changing time! ), defiant, hilarious, battle of wills, fun.
If she's been fed and has had a good nap, she's a lover. If not, look out!
MommyToAshley replied: AWWWEEEE!
Ok, time for one of your questions: Would you rather Sophia be smart, rich, or beautiful? why?
What's do you think is the cutest word (or phrase) that Sophia says (or mispronounces)?
How many words can she say now?
What has surprised you the most about Sophia lately?
What's the first thing Sophia does when she wakes up in the morning?
amynicole21 replied: I'd rather she be a smarty pants
She is the cutest thing when she says "dip-ip" meaning ketchup or syrup. She gets that from us telling her to "dip it" when she's eating something that she can dip (french fries, waffle sticks, etc.). DH has even taken to calling her dip-ip now
I guess the most surprising thing about her is just how clever she is! She can figure out how to get into EVERYTHING!
She likes to help feed the dog in the morning. She scoops his dry food out of the tub and then proceeds to spill it all over the floor
MilMunchMOM replied: How beeautifully put......It seems to be MORE than love doesn't it!
will she wear barrett's in her hair?
what's her favorite song?
does she like to color or does she eat the crayons??
what do you see for her future?
amynicole21 replied: She really likes to have things in her hair, but she hardly has enough length to really do anything with it
She loves when we sing twinkle twinkle or the itsy bitsy spider. They must sing these at school a lot because she has well coreographed movements she makes for different parts of the song. She'll even do the creeping spider thing during itsy bitsy
She loves to color AND eat the crayons
I think she's going to be a handful in her teenage years because, well, she's so darn pretty She's also too smart for her own good, and will almost definitely have my temper Not a good combo She'll be a firecracker for sure
MommyToAshley replied: Sophia is soooo pretty. Have you looked into modeling any further? Is this something you see in her future?
amynicole21 replied: I looked into modeling some, but there really isn't much here in Orlando. If I went down to Miami I'd have better luck. That's pretty far, though... Oh well!
paradisemommy replied: what was her first word? has she had any major owies? what's her favorite thing to do? who is her favorite other person (family/friend) not including mom and dad? does she like water and swimming?
MommyToAshley replied: Do you have any nicknames for her? How did you come up with them?
Do you plan to have more kids? How many? Do you think Sophia would like having siblings?
Do you allow her to go anywhere in the house or do you keep her in the same room as you?
Does she show an interest in the computer yet?
I love the professional photos of her, where do you have them taken? (kind of looks like Picture People's style)
What are her stats?
kimberley replied: did you find out she was a girl before she was born? what was your birth experience like with her? did you think her name suited her once you saw her? what is one thing you want to teach her? how often do you watch her sleep and want to wake her up and snuggle her?
A&A'smommy replied: wow so many questions!
What is the best "time" of day for her? What is her favorite thing to watch on tv? What do you think she will be like when she gets older? What is your favorite thing to do with her?
P.S She is SOOO beautiful!!!
CantWait replied: I agree, lots of questions, a couple of mine were taken
What's your favourite memory with Sophia so far?
Is she shy or is she all out there? Is she afraid of strangers?
amynicole21 replied: Her first word (other than mama) was Buddha, the name of our dog.
She's been bitten at school, fallen in the tub and tripped on the sidewalk. Each really only amounted to scrapes or bruises. So far, no major owies - thank goodness!
Her favorite thing to do is climb up on the couch after the remotes
She loves her first daycare teacher, Ms. Edna, above anyone else! She isn't in her class anymore, but will still light up when she sees her!
She loves to go swimming, but we haven't had too many opportunities yet. Maybe this summer will be better!
amynicole21 replied: We call her tootie or mama mostly. Tootie comes from her gassy nature
I would like to have 2 more kids, but let's see what happens after the next one. I'd like to try to get pregnant this spring/summer I think Sophia would love the company!
She's allowed to go mostly everywhere, except into the bedrooms where we can't see her. It's getting more and more difficult to keep her contained since she can now open doors by herself
She LOVES the computer, but hasn't quite figured out the art of using the mouse.
Yep, all of them are Picture People. Love that place
She has her 18mo appt in 2 weeks, but I think she's about 32" and 22.5lbs... that's my guess, anyway!
ediep replied: Has Sophia been to Disney yet? Does she like being in her stroller? When you are out to eat, will she eat something from the menu or do you have to bring food from home? What is her favorite sippy cup? Does she drink milk?
amynicole21 replied: We didn't know if she was a boy or a girl before she was born. I was SURE she was going to be a boy tho
I was induced because I had a rash called PUPPS so bad that I couldn't sleep or relax. It was a nightmare. The labor was ok, as soon as they got the epidural right. I pushed for 3 hours, though. That was horrible! I was begging to be allowed to go to sleep - I was exhausted and in so much pain! Ugh.
We hadn't really settled on a name before she was born. We had a few contenders, but when she came out she was dark and lovely and looked like a Sophia
I want to teach her to be self confident and to respect herself. I think I would have had a much happier childhood if I had those two qualities
She sleeps with us, so at least 2 or 3 times a night I reach over and give her a kiss and a snuggle She looks like an angel when she's asleep
amynicole21 replied: Her best time of day is usually about 10am until nap time at 11 or 12. Sadly, she's usually at daycare at that time so I miss it. Weekends are good, though
She loves her Baby Einstein tapes the most. Other than that, she really likes Maisy on Noggin.
I think she's going to be wild when she is older We're all doomed!
I love to take walks with her - especially when she reaches up to hold my hand
amynicole21 replied: Favorite memory...hmmmmm..... there are so many! One of my favorite things recently was when she was taking a bath and was all soapy and wet with conditioner in her hair. She looked up at me and said "hug" then stood up and gave me the biggest, best hug ever! I was covered in goo and was soaked, but I was in Heaven!
She is very shy with people she doesn't know. Even with people she does know, it takes her a few minutes to warm up. After that, it's all over! Sometimes she'll be very friendly with strangers in the store though... can't quite figure it out
amynicole21 replied: She's been to Sea World, but not Disney yet. DH and I just bought season tickets to all the Disney parks, so we'll be going with her very soon!
She likes to be in her stroller for short bursts, but mostly wants to run around and reek havoc
She will eat chicken fingers and french fries, but that is about it! WE usually bring cheerios or something from home just in case.
Her fav. sippy cup is red and green with little bears on it
She nurses still, so that's her main source of milk. She will sip some milk from a cup, but not much unless it's just the right temp and she is very sleepy.
paradisemommy replied: i love learning about her..she is just gorgeous!! yep you are gonna be doomed when she gets older!
amynicole21 replied: Awww! Thanks! This has been really fun!
MommyToAshley replied: Does Sophia like to play on her own or do you need to be nearby?
How many hours does she sleep (nightime and naps combined)?
If she were granted one wish to get into something that she's is not allowed to, what would she choose? hee hee
MommyToAshley replied:
amynicole21 replied: Ooops, almost missed this!
She needs us to be nearby, but will play without our interaction for good amounts of time.
Total sleep time is usually about 11 hours. Not enough for her, and I hate having to wake her in the morning to get her ready for school She usually sleeps through her diaper change.
I would say that she would love to have full access to dh's sound system! She's been dying to get into that cabinet for AGES!
Jamison'smama replied: Okay, wow, most of the great questions were asked but I will still ask a couple.
What is your favorite gift that Sophia has received and why?
Where is the craziest place you have nursed her?
Any embarrassing nursing moments?
What does Sophia do when she wants your attention?
How does Sophia dance--is she a swayer or a bouncer?
What music do you turn on when it is time to dance?
amynicole21 replied: My favorite gift has got to be her first Baby Einstein dvd - we wouldn't have made it through the past 18months without them!
We really haven't been too creative with nursing in public... probably a crowded beach was the most crazy Or in the car, me leaning over the carseat while DH is speeding down the highway! I've pumped in weird places, though... like in the middle of the public bathroom at a convention, dressed in a suit I sure got some looks I guess that's the most embarassing, though it shouldn't have been. I'm just pretty shy about it.
When she wants attention, she sometimes comes over and grabs one of our hands to lead us around the house or over to where she wants help. Either that or scream and throw a tantrum
Depending on the type of music, Sophia is both a bouncer and a swayer! It's funny to me that she will switch it up for fast or slow songs
When it's time to dance, we turn on techno or rap. Something about the bass gets my baby movin'
