*Morning* sickness - morning my foot!

~Roo'sMama~ wrote: Well I got my wish. rolleyes.gif Not that I really wanted to be sick! I just wanted some reassurance that my pg wasn't all in my head. Lol wacko.gif
I'm feeling slightly nauseous pretty much throughout the day, but then once 10pm rolls around - whamo. sad.gif I haven't been throwing up, just nauseous.... so far. Anyways I don't understand the *nightly* sickness thing.... it just figures I'd have to be one of those people with a screwed up system! rolleyes.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: LOL. Sorry you are feeling poorly. I had all day sickness with this pregnancy but with my first I had hardly any symptoms. I got kind of worried and hoped for some signs of pregnancy. I got the same one you did. My morning sickness would usually start a little after dinner just when I was trying to relax on the couch & watch TV. YUCk!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I am a little worried about it.... I'm going to be working the evening shift at the nursing home where I work starting this week. And here I thought it was going to be just fine since any m/s i had would for sure be gone by the time I go to work at 2pm!! Lol or not. dry.gif
Oh well I'll live. rolleyes.gif

A&A'smommy replied: UGH you poor thing!!!! Hopefully it wont last long I think they say by time you get to your 2nd trimester (12wks). (((HUGS))))

mama3x replied: Well Sara I like to consider myself the founder of the "Gotta Be Diff With Morning Sickness Club".

With both DS and DD AND including this time around, I was anywhere from slightly nauseous to majorly nauseous 24/7. It always seemed to let up about 16-20 weeks but for me, it never really left 'cause it came back now and then! Same thing this time too. dry.gif

Ah well - take care! Sour things helped once in awhile. REAL sour!

amynicole21 replied: I've been having on and off m/s this time, too. Not as bad as with dd though thank goodness! Ginger is supposed to really help. There are ginger candies and they've even just come out with ginger altoids! I can't stand ginger, so I haven't tried it yet, but others swear by it! Good luck. I hope it doesn't last long for you grouphug.gif

Lollie replied: Awww...

I know exactly about the morning sickness issue..which Im glad Im over with!!

During my first few weeks of pregnancy I was sick all the time!!!!!With Bri I only got nauseaous during my 3rd trimester...And with this pregnancy I was sick during the first weeks!!Every morning before I got out of bed, hubby would have my ice-cubes and crackers waiting for me at my bedside... wub.gif That helped me alot!!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: grouphug.gif The nausea was the worst for me, I had nausea morning, noon and night. It was just awful! I hope it doesn't last very long! Try eating crackers and drinking pepermint tea, that helped settle my stomach. Also try eating 6 smaller meals a day instead of 3 big ones (if you are able to eat)! I hope you feel better soon! grouphug.gif

coasterqueen replied: ((HUGS)). I feel your pain. I didn't have bad m/s at all with Kylie but with this one it was horrid!!! I hear those "preggo" pops work well too. I found them at BRU course we just got a BRU so I never tried them when I got m/s, lol.

Mine just went away about 12.5 weeks just like that. So hopefully yours will go away quickly. I had mine all day too sad.gif.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lollie your DH sounds like a gem!! I wonder if mine would do that for me? Lol I guess we'll find out if it gets that bad in the mornings. tongue.gif This morning I felt pretty sick but I'm better now..... I am able to eat. It actually seems to help if I munch on crackers or whatever so that I never get hungry. dunno.gif
I've heard that about ginger too... I like ginger in some foods but I don't know if I'd be able to stomach it all by itself! blink.gif I'm kind of a picky eater. happy.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh no, sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I had morning sickness morning, day and afternoon. Sometimes just smells would make me sick. I lost weight my first trimester because of it (but boy did I make up for it --LOL!)

It's good that you are snacking all day long, I think that is the one thing that really helped me. They say that it is worse if you let your tummy get empty.

Hang in there, I hope the M/S passes soon! grouphug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I hope it passes quickly. I was sick more at night with my first pg, too. With my second I was sick all day all night all 9 months. tongue.gif I never threw up with my first...I threw up all the time with the second. rolleyes.gif You just never know.

I hope working in the evenings goes okay. wink.gif

Mom2Boyz replied: Ugh *Morning* sickness is NO fun. I hope it passes soon for you wub.gif
I wonder exactly how they came up with that name anyway rolleyes.gif

Littlejojames replied: God morning sickness is the worse type that you can get. It seems to last all day and no matter if your sick its still there. Mine lasted all day till around 12 and then i would smell something and that would knock me right off again.

mine has only just cleared up sometime last week so im full of life now

Hope that yours clears up soon

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Just an update tongue.gif - now I am nauseous from the time I wake up until I go to bed. It's worse if I let myself get hungry, so I'm contantly stuffing my face even though I don't feel like eating! rolling_smile.gif I'm just thankfull I'm not throwing up - my sister couldn't keep anything down at all throughout her whole pg and she had to go to the hospital a couple times for an IV cuz she fainted. sad.gif
If this lasts until week 12 I have 6 weeks of this left! blink.gif I just hope it goes away at some point!! unsure.gif

coasterqueen replied:
UGH! I had the nauseau all day long with this one. I'd stuff my face in hopes that it would help but it didn't most times. I also seem to get sick at the thought of food the entire time I'm tried to eat too. rolleyes.gif I gained too much weight during the m/s phase. tongue.gif Mine did go away at about 12.5 weeks, though.

So let's hoping the next 6 weeks goes really fast for you and that your m/s goes away very quickly!!!!!

grouphug.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Thanks happy.gif I'm hoping so too!! It's nice to hear that most of the time there is an end in sight. smile.gif

maestra replied: My morning sickness was so bad with both pregnancies that I actually lost weight, since I was so sick I couldn't keep anything down. My dr put me on a medication that works wonders. I only take it if I really have to, but I still do get ms on and off even now. rolling_smile.gif

If it gets really bad, don't be afraid to call your dr. grouphug.gif

kimberley replied: oh no! i hope it passes fast for you. just keep eating if that helps wink.gif i have no idea why they call it morning sickness since almost everyone i know didn't have it just in the morning rolleyes.gif

mama3x replied: I am so sorry to hear that it lasts all day!!!!! I wish I could take it away for you, I know how it feels. It went away for me (not completely but enough so I can function) so I hope it does for you!

Sending non-nauseous vibes your way!

smullin replied: I have morning sickness when I get up in the morning until about 5:00. Then it comes back right before I go to bed so it is hard to go to bed most nights. huh.gif I constantly try to keep food in my stomach so it won't be worse. I drank a bunch of sprite at first when I got it but now my stomach doesn't even want that now. Some tips I have learned are to not drink liquids with meals and to stick to small portioned meals. I hope mine gets better along with yours. rolling_smile.gif The sour thing does help sometimes suprisely. I have some sour gum and when I feel weird I chew on it. If I don't have anything in my stomach or am running out of food in it I get really sick and feel like I am going to faint.
