Next month, I'll have been married for 2 years.

I went to University of Maryland for 2 years, freaked out and left. I finished my Associates degree at a community college here, but I still plan to someday go back for my bachelors.

First date - this is kind of tricky. We worked together and hung out all the time. On New Year's Eve 1998-1999 neither of us had anything to do since all of our friends were out of town. We hung out together, but nothing happened. We spent New Year's day dinner with his Mom, and the next day just hanging out watching movies. On that third day, we kissed ... I guess that was our first date. Sitting in my grungy apartment watching stupid movies.

Interesting jobs? Not really... I've worked at restaraunts, bakery's, Pharmaceutical companies... nothing interesting. I currently work in the firearms industry as a buyer for a wholesale distributor. It gets pretty interesting around here when people dressed in business suits walk down the halls with AK-47s and no one looks at them funny.

Fav color is probably orange.

Sometimes I paint my toenails, usually during a pedicure. Haven't had one in a few weeks so they are naked now

Fav dessert - We have a restaraunt called PF Changs here (I think they are national??) that used to serve a warm macademia nut pie. It was basically just crust, whole macademia nuts and hot chocolate fudge holding it all together. It was amazing! They don't offer it anymore though

Worst habit is smoking. I am on the verge of trying to quit... again

Middle name was Nicole until I got married and changed it to my maiden name. Now it's Johnston.

DH and I worked together for years before we got married.

I have one older sis whom I love dearly!!

Sophia has one cousin named Malik who is 5. He is a cutie pie!

Depends on the situation... When I'm in a setting when I have to be "on," I am a total Leo - cracking jokes and entertaining. Usually, though, I am pretty shy and introverted.

Roll model... I really admire the author Ayn Rand. She was an amazingly strong woman who could reason her way out of every argument.

When I was about 3, my older sister, her friend and I were playing at a construction site in our neighborhood. We decided to make a see saw out of a 50 gallon drum and a plank of wood. It was too lopsided when I (the smallest) sat on either end with the big kids, so they sat me in the middle. I curled my fingers around the board to hang on and crunch smashed my fingers to smitherines! My fingernail fell off and at the ER they sewed it back on

I would love to have 3 kids, but DH would be happy with just 2.

I don't mind my name... I can't imagine being called anything else

I have a weird thing about shampoo... I can't use the same one two days in a row. I have about 5 different bottles in the shower at all times. My current favorites are finesse and dove shampoo.

Ummm, I don't usually clean the house regularly. DH is a fanatic about cleaning, and I usually just let him go at it

DH does almost all of the chores... cleaning floors, taking out garbage, unloading dishwasher, cleaning cat box, washing cars, mowing lawn, cooking. I take care of the baby.

I don't take much time for myself, but I don't really miss it. I'd much rather spend time with DH and Sophia than out with the girls. I'm a homebody.

Most embarrassing moment... I was pretty horrified expaining to the VP of my company how I screwed up and cost the money $20K. This was just last week. Can't think of anything farther back

I love indie type music... Ani Difranco, David Gray, Jack Johnson. Also Macy Gray, India Arie, Dave Matthews, Beastie Boys... Old stuff like Etta James and Miles Davis too.

Memorable HS moment... How about when I was 15 and thought it would be just fine if I took my Mom's car and drove to watch the boys soccer team play. Did not have my license. Did not know how to drive. Then when we got there, I locked my keys in the car Luckily, my friend's step father came to unlock it for us and he didn't know I did not have a license! Mom never knew

Sophia loves to snuggle with my flabby belly. When she is tired, I just have to put her on the couch next to me, lift my shirt to expose my belly, and she lies right on it and goes to sleep. Weird! Maybe she hears all of the swishes and gurgles and it reminds her of being in the womb?

I love that DH understands that I need my sleep. He's an early riser and will almost always take Sophia out of the bedroom on weekend mornings so I can catch an extra hour!

DH and I were friends for about 4 years before we got married.

I'm so looking forward to the new TV season starting this fall!! I love ER, Alias and 24. Can't wait!!

I like that I am basically a good person. I try not to hurt people's feelings and be considerat - sometimes to a fault. I get myself in some strange situations sometimes

I love watching World Cup soccer and the summer olympics. I don't really follow the regular stuff.

I used to love soccer... now I am old, fat and out of shape so running is not an option. Is Nintendo a sport?

I think I have a good deal of common sense, and I hope that Sophia gets that from me.

Apart from a plethora of physical things I would love to change about myself I really wish I had more patience and could better control my temper.

Being a mom has brough about a lot of changes in me. I am a lot more motivated to get my life in order and be a grown-up. With Sophia, I have a lot more patience than I have with anyone else. But mostly, it's the amount of love I feel for her which I never knew I could feel.

I needed a job when I moved to Florida, and just started canvasing office parks around where I lived. I had no idea what went on in this building, but I left my resume and got a call for an interview. Boy was I surprised when I sat down and they said, "first of all, do you know what this company does?" I was (am?) a tree hugger, so guns were not on my list of things I enjoyed. I guess I've sort of sold my soul for a paycheck I have been to a shooting range once, and shot several types of guns. I don't mind target shooting, but I'm not a fan of hunting. I hate having to see animal heads on people's walls at work

I wish I had the talent to be a writer. I love books, and think it would be a great thing to be able to write one.

I haven't been off the continent yet... actually, outside of the US I've only gone to Canada and the Carribean. I would love to take one of those month long cruises around Europe! I'd also like to go somewhere exotic like Bali or Tibet.

DH and I have a very similar sense of humor. I know it's bad, but we love to sit and people-watch and make jokes about weirdos. We really have to stop that soon, I don't want Sophia to do that at school
