*sigh*

mommy~to~a~bunch wrote: Why does it have to take so long? Why can't I be as fertile as others? I've wanted another baby since Abby was about an hour old LOL. Now, she's almost 17 months old, and still nothing; no periods. Temping is proving useless, so I'm starting to think there's something else wrong. Abby is nursing only 4-5 times a day, so I don't think that has much to do with it.

I am going to see an endocrinologist to help me get my hormones in order. It's so hard when you want something so badly, but can't have it. I am starting to get all obsessive about it again sleep.gif .

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Sorry Mollie, that's hard. I bet you just aren't ovulating yet. You can get your period and not ovulate, but not the other way around. Would you ever consider weaning completely so that you can conceive? I know how strongly you feel about nursing, so I'm not trying to push you one way...But since you want another baby so bad, it may be the answer the doc gives you to help you ovulate naturally, kwim. hug.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
No, I wouldn't wean Abby prematurely wub.gif . I've gotten pregnant before while breastfeeding; Hannah was nursing when I got pregnant with Kayla' then they were BOTH still nursing when I got pregnant with Abby, so I know it's possible for me to get pregnant while BFing. I think it's more about my thyroid than anything.

Thanks for the hugs you guys!

PrairieMom replied:
have you tried taking your temps and charting? maybe you just keep missing it? hug.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: mollie, I know that sometimes it is just harder when you are thinking about it and worrying about it..
I think the more times I "tried" the longer it took, or so it seemed. when we just let it happen, it did.
maybe you are just missing the right time? but I also think woman know their bodies and if you think you need to have your thyroid checked then that might be a good idea.
good luck hug.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif I know it must be very rough on you. Try to think about how fortunate you are to have the wonderful kids you do already - some people can't even have one. I'm sure when the timing is right and you are meant to you'll have another. wub.gif

Boys r us replied: Maybe the time just isn't right! Keep having fun trying..and enjoy the happy, healthy children you've already been blessed with!

Cece00 replied: How long have you been TTC?

Have you had hormone/thyroid problems in the past?

Crystalina replied: My sis is breastfeeding all the time and she got pg. I don't think that's it. I would find out what going on but I'm sure it's just timing Mollie. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: To clarify a few things, we're not TTC right now, I wish we were. I'm still waiting for AF to come back after Abby was born (she's almost 17 months old). I've been tested for hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue, and I have both. They are complicated conditions, and they help regulate sex hormones as well, so if they aren't functioning properly, neither are the sex hormones, which means that I'm all messed up basically.

It's frustrating to me, since I'm having a hard time finding someone to treat me properly. I know what I need, but no one will give it to me sad.gif . I am doing self-care right now, and I have some raw thyroid & adrenal supplements on the way soon to help me get back to normal. I've already started a variety of vitamins (mainly B's) and minerals, and already feel better from that.

Crystalina replied:
Oh I'm sorry. I thought you were already trying. That is a long time for AF not to show up I would think. huh.gif Hopefully you can get things back to normal so you can start trying. wub.gif baby.gif hug.gif

moped replied:
Mollie, I know quite a bit about thyroid disorders, I have hyperthyroildism, graves and hashimoto (sp) all at the same time, and yes it does affect your cycles and TTC etc. My advice is get to an endocrinologist and get on synthroid I think it is and it will make you feel better much quicker, there is one that is safe while BF too.

My condition is opposite to yours but same underlying problems, which all suck!

HuskerMom replied: hug.gif hug.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
I know that's a long time bawling.gif . I want another baby so bad, it hurts sad.gif .

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
Thanks Jen! Yes, I need Synthroid or Armour, for sure. I just called about getting a referral to an endocrinologist. I hope it's not a 6 month wait sad.gif .

lovemy2 replied:
Wait - I am confused - if you aren't TTC right now how do you know its taking so long? Is it because you are waiting for AF to return and some of your thyroid issues to clear up before you start TTC and that is what is taking so long???

Either way - its hard when you want something and have to wait hug.gif hug.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
I WANT to be TTCing, but yes, I can't due to the thyroid & adrenal issues, along with not having AF yet (which has to do with the thyroid/adrenals). I'm just so bummed out that I'm not pregnant again yet sad.gif .

Crystalina replied:
Don't worry Mama. It will happen. wub.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
Good things come to those who wait, right wub.gif ?

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Well, I have an appointment to see an endocrinologist on May 28th. As much as I dislike doctors, I will see what he has to say, and then do my own research.

If he even MENTIONS weaning Abby, he will get an earful mad.gif .

bawoodsmall replied: hug.gif It will happen. I am glad you are getting to a doctor soon.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Thank you! I hope this doctor has some answers for me. I'm so sick of the runaround.

moped replied: I honestly wouldn't think an Endo would tell you to wean Abby.........

Calimama replied:
hug.gif hug.gif Good luck!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: hug.gif hug.gif I don't think there is anything that I could add, that anyone hasn't already said! I'm so sorry to hear about the problems that you are having! I hope this doctor can give you more answers! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! hug.gif hug.gif

jacobsmama replied: I know how you feel. I am in the same boat. 2 years of Not using protection and nothing so far. I am going to see a fertility Dr in 2 months. sad.gif

I really want another baby and Jacob wants a brother/sister. blush.gif
