1 cm and counting.
Aprilnewbee wrote: Today is my due date, and it looks like it is going to come and go with no baby. Major frustration and impatience is taking over, I am still 1cm, have been so for that last 2 weeks. No major contractions, no change in secretions, nothing. I am still pg. I know only like 10% deliver on their due date, but I was hoping for at least some sign that he is comming soon. I guess, I have a great womb, because he want's to stay. Any tips, or come-out-now-vibes are all welcome.

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh sweetie! He's got to come out sooner or later. Try to take a long walk with your hubby tonight before dinner. It will help stimulate the hormones that start labor.
Aprilnewbee replied: Yeah, we've been walking every evening, and we've been 'practicing for the next one'.
I am just really ready to meet him, I feel like I already know him.
Thank you anyways, I think I just needed to vent some of my frustration, my husband is tired of hearing it I'm sure.
Did anyone else feel this way in the last days of pregnancy?
Beth
MyLuvBugs replied: Days? Try the whole last month!! This time I'm totally dreading it b/c it's the hottest part of summer when I'm due. UGH. But yeah, I totally felt that way. have you tried some yoga squats to open your hips? Or maybe talk to your dr. about stripping your membranes...That hurts a little, but it's very affective!
1lilpeanut2love replied: Sex, sex and more sex!! Sorry TMI. It definitely will help!!! LOL!!

I totally know how you feel. It's really hard the last days of pg. I went into false labor a week before my due date, and it got me really excited, then to just turn around and go home was hard. I was induced a week after my due date. My OB stripped my membranes, painful (but not as bad as labor pains) and they started me on pitocin. My son was a large baby, 9 pounds. So it's good I was induced when I was.
I tried everything to get him out sooner. I walked like a mad woman, drank this certain type of tea, sex, you name it we tried it. (all the safe methods of trying to induce labor)...but nothing worked for me.
I know it seems like eternity, waiting to hold your baby in your arms. But soon enough, he'll be here when it's the right timing. In the meantime, just try to do some nice things for yourself. Like getting a pedicure, taking a nap, getting your hair done, visiting with friends...things that you won't have time to do once the baby arrives. I'm glad I took time off from work, and pampered myself. Especially sleeping in, since that won't happen with a newborn.

Edward's Mommy replied: Unless you did it throughout your pregnancy like I did!
tetesweetie replied: Maybe you should try to drink raspberry leaf tea. It is sold in health food stores. It helps to get your contractions started and it is completely safe. It is very bland but isn't horrible tasting either. Good luck.

EvesMom replied: Hi Beth! I can totally relate with you. Evelynn came a week late. I tried everything and anything to get labor going, and nothing worked. Until I started playing a video game on my SS's PS2. Suddenly my water broke, woohoo. Went to my doc to confirm, and off to the hospital I went. I still wasn't having contractions though, so they got me rolling with pitocin. If you can, try a video game. It worked for me!
Aprilnewbee replied: Well, here is the update. I am still pregnant and still 1cm. We are inducing tomorrow (wed) night. Which is so not what I wanted to do, but he can't cook forever. So right now it looks like I will meet my son on Thurs, I am getting anxious and excited now. Still no contractions, and no other change but we are at 42 weeks and don't want to go much further. We tried it all to get him here; sex, walking, teas, spicy food, long hot showers, foot and hand massages, and more. I guess Hotel Womb is just cozy. Well, I don't have much access to the internet, so I don't know when I will be able to post pics or even reply back to this post, but I will try asap so you all can meet him too. Hopefully when my MT training is finished I can get internet at home, I'll probably need it for work anyways. Oh, MT is Medical Transcription.

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh congrats, congrats!! We're excited to see him too. Post his little pic soon.

Do they usually do inductions at night? I would think they'd do it like this morning... But good luck sweetie!
CantWait replied: Good Luck tonight, and hope everything goes well for you. Can't wait to meet your bundle of joy.
