Hillbilly Housewife replied: How sad....
A&A'smommy replied: if you haven't had it this year its BAD we had it for 2 weeks.. it was HORRIBLE!!!!
That is SO sad my P&PT'S are with the babies family!!!
Calimama replied: I can't even imagine.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: That's awful! That's why I thik it's pointless getting the shot in the first place.
My2Beauties replied: HOw awful! Yeah we don't do flu shots here either.
lisar replied: That is so sad. My heart goes out to that family.
MommyToAshley replied: How sad, my heart goes out to them. I couldn't even imagine.
As for the flu shot, it does help but it doesn't protect against everything. This is the first year I have gotten it for Ashley, however she got the mist and not the shot. There are six kids that sit at Ashley's table at school... and last week there were five empty chairs and Ashley at the table. They all had the flu. Coincidence? Maybe I guess we won't know for sure, but I think the shot helped.
coasterqueen replied: Coincidence? Maybe, but it could also be how each immune system is. Almost every kid in Kylie's class has been out this school year with the flu. Kylie has not had it at all (knock on wood). Her teacher commented to me recently that I must have gotten Kylie the flu shot, which I replied "no, we don't get them". Kylie has had sniffles, etc, but that's it. So I guess that could be coincidence too. Who knows.
My heart goes out to that family.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison caught the flu virus at the end of our vacation last week---diagnosed with influenza on Sunday, DH and I got it Monday. It is horrible. Jack is the only one in the family who got the shot and is the only one who didn't get the flu.
mckayleesmom replied: We don't get the flu shot either.....The last time I got the flu shot I got the flu the next day.
My2Beauties replied: Yeah my mom did too and my DH gets it every year but he always has some weird side affect from it every year that he thinks is completely coincidental and I refuse to get it. My mom got it twice, and she's had the flu each time she's gotten it. I think it affects different people in different ways. I got Aubrey the first round of the flu shot this year because of her age, I didn't get the second round because ever since the first round she's been sick with a runny nose, cough, etc..
choochoo replied: Oooooh, poor baby.
We usually don't get the flu shot, but when we do, we feel awful for at least 2 weeks afterward.
