A tragic event and my tooth vent

Okay, this vent seems petty to even talk about, but I'm down about it. My tooth started hurting Thursday night. Went to dentist Friday (emergency dentist) they said I would probably need a filling replaced. No big deal. Went to my regular dentist today. He said I have a crack in my tooth and would most definitely need a crown That will cost me minimum of $500!!! But since he doesn't know where and how far the crack is I have to go see a specialist to do testing to see if I need a root canal AND I can't get in to him for 3 WEEKS!!! So then if it's a root canal I'll have to wait for another appt. to have that done, then wait for my crown to be done then have that done. I'll be lucky to get this all done before I go on my trip in the beginning of July.

The entire time I'm waiting I can only eat on one side and my tooth hurts. Worst of all I have TMJ and it is very painful to just chew on one side. And the whole root canal/crown is going to cost me about $1000. There goes working on the rest of the basement

I know I'm going to need a root canal. I've had this type of thing before and I know the symptoms.

That really is a bummer about the root canall---sorry!!!

I am sorry also about your tooth. My dentist has a call list in case people cancel at the last moment. Maybe after you get the tests done, you can have your dentist put you on the call list and you may be able to get in earlier.

As far as your tooth awwww (((BIG HUGS))) I bet that really sucks!!!!! I hope that it works out for you to get it fixed REALLY soon!

As for your tooth, I am so sorry!! I really hope it isn't needing a root canal, and that it won't cost as much as you think it will.

I had the same thing happen with my tooth. My dentist ended up giving me a temporary medicated filling until he was able to schedule the root canal and crown. I had to go to Canada and that held me pretty well until I got home.

I'm also sorry about your tooth. That is the worst pain!!! Hope you can get it fixed for relatively cheap!!

HUGS to you for having to deal with this tooth trouble. I sympathise with you. I hope you don't have to wait to long to get your tooth fixed. Are you taking anything to relieve the pain? I've heard that seeing chiropractor works for TMJ.

And sorry about your tooth. There's nothing worse than having a tooth ache and having to wait to get it fixed. Hope you can get it worked on real soon

Thanks Kristen. I'm taking motrin for it. It's weird because the pain isn't too bad during day, but at night it is soooooo sore!

I've seen a chiropractor for my TMJ, but chose not to go back for various reasons.

Hopefully this will all go away soon, lol.

owwwie!! tooth aches suck! why do you have to wait so long? can't they get you in sooner considering the circumstances? i hope the motrin gives you some relief and you get this over with before your trip.

I feel so badly for that poor family, I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing a baby that far into pregnancy!
