ACK! I can't believe we are moving - in ONE week!

luvmykids wrote: Well, technically, a week and one and a half days laugh.gif I'm so excited I can't stand it but I'm also a wreck, I feel soooo behind. Tomorrow my parents and another friend are coming to help me take beds apart and all that, I'm hoping once thats done I'll be able to see that I don't really have too much left.

It's going to be so great to have our family under one roof again wub.gif

cameragirl21 replied: where are you moving to and how are you going to move the horses?

luvmykids replied: We're moving to the Ft Worth area, and DH will take the horses in the trailer. Hopefully we'll be down to six by then, I think we have the other three sold.

cameragirl21 replied: oh, I see, I do remember you talking about possibly moving to Texas but doesn't your dh work in GA or something? Did you buy a house yet? Do the kids already have a new school picked out?
I can't even imagine a long distance move with three small children and a whole gaggle of animals.
What about Nikka, will she be spending summers with you guys now that she'll be in a different state?

luvmykids replied: DH has been working in DFW and Houston. He had to get out of the golf course in GA when the economy went bad, all the money making hinged on selling lots and building houses so it went south rather quickly. He's started another construction company.

We're just renting this house, the cool thing is it's on a 5500 acre ranch, the kids and horses will be in heaven smile.gif but we've already got the twins' school figured out, I don't know what to do with Macie quite yet, I'm debating on whether to enroll her in preK to let her catch up agewise, or keep her in Kindy. But if she's going to need to be held back due to age, I'd rather do it now than in a few years, get all the transitions over at once. She's doing fantastic in Kindy, but when I look at the twins I can't quite picture Macie being in their spot a year from now.

We're actually hoping Nikka will decide she wants to live with us and go to high school there, it's a long shot but she is leaving her current school when high school starts anyway. Otherwise, I'm sure we'll see her pretty regularly, we'll be coming back to visit my parents plus it's a short enough flight that she can come for quick weekend trips.

My BIL wants to move there too, when he complained about how hard it would be to pack up his roomful of stuff I wanted to smack him and tell him if I can do it, he can stuff it and do it too laugh.gif

cameragirl21 replied: Oh, that sounds great. Does it snow in DFW? I know you were complaining about having so much snow you couldn't feed the horses sometime ago.

luvmykids replied: From what I understand, it does snow once in awhile but not too bad and it doesn't stick around for long. I'll be soooo happy to not have to feed in snow up to my hips! biggrin.gif

jacobsmama replied: I have a friend who lives in Houston, she told me they have flurries last night and for her it was the first time she saw it in 5 years!! So I would say not much ahha

Good luck on your move!! hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I can't believe it, either! I think it's so awesome that we will be living this close to one another!!!!! banana.gif My best friend lives in Ft Worth and it's so hard to make it out to see her, but now that I have 2 reasons to go out that way, I will be going more often! wink.gif

We do get snow in this area, but we get more ice. Sleet & freezing rain...that all turns to ice. Snow will fall but won't last very long.

luvmykids replied:
It'll work both ways, I'll have an excuse to get to the Dallas side with all the good shopping too laugh.gif thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: thumb.gif thumb.gif YAY!!!!!

lisar replied: I hope everything goes as smooth as possible. I hated moving, all that hard work was hard.

Brias3 replied: Wow, I didn't know you were moving! What an adventure- Texas sounds wonderful!

So happy to hear you'll all be under the same roof again- that must be a good feeling! Bet the kids are thrilled too smile.gif

youngmomofone replied: Cool biggrin.gif My and my dh's families are in Houston.

luvmykids replied:
Truthfully, I am a little nervous laugh.gif I'm thrilled at the thought of it, but I think it's going to take some serious adjusting for all of us.....we do great for about a week, then we're both driving each other crazy. I'm sure we'll be fine after we get used to it again. He'll still travel a tiny bit, maybe 10% of the amount he's gone now, it will be such a big relief.

The kids are especially thrilled, poor Colt is taking the move the hardest and every time he tears up he says "Leaving my friends will be worth it to see Daddy more" bawling.gif wub.gif

CantWait replied: biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I'm so happy for you Monica, it's about time. hug.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: YEE HAW! I'm going to DFW for Mardi Gras....we need to make plans now!
