AF??
holley79 wrote: Annika is only three weeks old. I had the PP bleeding and then it finally stopped. Last night I started having what felt like cramps then this afternoon there was blood. Is it possible that AF is here so soon. I thought that if you were BF that it would be a little while and I didn't think your ovaries did anything for at least 6 weeks. Am I wrong or could it maybe something else?
Freckled Momma replied: It could possibly be AF returning, but also, if you have been doing a lot more than usual, sometimes the PP bleeding returns as a sign you aren't resting enough. I would call my ob and just ask to make sure of things. If you have any kind of weird discharge with it, definitely call.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I agree. Although I started my period again after 6 weeks. But I was not BF.
kimberley replied: since you have been nursing non stop lately i would think that is what triggered the blood. nursing naturally releases oxytocin which makes your uterus contract, so the bleeding is normal.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Like Kimberly said above this is normal. I did that off and on the first month of Jordan's life.
mom2tripp replied: Everyone is different but if you are nursing exclusively I would say it is not AF, my bleeding went off and of with Tripp for nearly 2 months!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: ditto - off and on for a few weeks.
Wait until you go a week between PP bleeding... THEN you could consider it AF.
I still haven't gotten mine.
holley79 replied: Ok that makes me feel a little bit better. I was hoping that after having Annika maybe my AF would regulate and my body wouldn't be so out of whack. I'm still hoping that this will hold true.
Thanks for all the feedback.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: It does seem too early for AF! I'm sure it's just normal PP bleeding like the others said. I had bleeding off and on for 6 weeks. I also got AF back at 3 months, though, even though I'm bf'ing exclusively. Actually I'm pretty sure I had it at 2 months, but at the time I thought it was just pp bleeding starting up again.
C&K*s Mommie replied:
Not getting enough rest as well, and being too active, and trying to do too much so soon could also be the culprit.
CosmetologyMommy replied: When my pp bleeding stopped, I started exercising and it came back, so maybe you are being more active than you realize.
MyLuvBugs replied: Oh yeah. Mine NEVER took a break. like a week after my PP bleeding stopped...AF was back in business. So annoying isn't it. For some women is stops completely, but apparently not for all of us. You and I are one of those special one. It will be ok though. At least you don't have to worry if your pregnant again right away,b/c you'll have a definate sign that you aren't every month.
holley79 replied:
I'm thinking this may be the reason if it isn't AF. I seem to be using the stairs a lot, doing a lot of walking and hardly sleeping. We will get "normal" one of these days.
PhiMuMommy replied: the girl i work with got pg 3 weeks after haveing her son..and she was BF.. so i assume that the body can start that early...
Mom2Boyz replied: You'll NEVER be normal again, you're a mommy now LOL
As far as af returning, I guess anything is possible, but I would say it's probably just from being more active, and getting less sleep. After having Conner, my af returned exactly 5 weeks later and I was exclusivly bfing. With Caden, we were both formula and bfing and she just returned about 2 weeks ago. The female body is a funny thing
