Aaargh! Daycare is shutting down.
amynicole21 wrote: I got to daycare this morning and there was a sign on the door that FRIDAY is their last day! I have one week to find a new daycare. I'm going to throw up. Luckily, we have a vacation scheduled for the following week, so it is actually 2 weeks, but we won't be here to do tours or anything. Apparently, the owners of the building sold it and told the daycare to get out.
C&K*s Mommie replied: this Fri, or next week's Fri?
That is very short notice regardless that the owners gave to the daycare, and even shorter notice for you as the parents.
I wish you success in finding a new place soon! It will be a new group of children for Sophia to convince to shed their clothes.
amynicole21 replied: LOL! Oh, the joys this new place will experience dealing with my two trouble-makers. Friday the 20th is their last day.
CantWait replied: WOW one week to find something new. Thanks for the notice eh!!! Hope you find something that you like quickly.
mckayleesmom replied: OMG...that is really short notice. Is there a family member that could watch them for a week or so while you look around?
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I know that sick feeling. Our dayhome provider told us she couldn't watch Logan anymore 2 weeks before his first heart surgery. I was already stressed out enough, but man that stunk. Upside was that I was able to find a place that fits us so well and Logan loves it and it even costs less.
coasterqueen replied: OMG! That's horrible of them to do that. Hope you find a new place soon. So will Sophia get to be in preschool somewhere else?
mom2my2cuties replied: YIKES!!! I can't believe that the owners were able to do that without letting thier tenents know. I was under the impression that a lot of places had special laws against that.
Hope you can find something even better for your girls!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: OMG talk about short notice thats terrible. I hope you can find something.
amynicole21 replied: I have no idea. Probably not though - that was a special "under the table" arrangement I had with the place they are in now.
MommyToAshley replied: Oh no... that sucks... I am sorry! I wonder if some of the workers have an idea where they are going or can give you a lead? They may have some "inside industry" info that you don't.
Hope you find something before you go on vacation so you don't have to worry about it all week.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I am very sorry girl.. Nothing worse than worrying about daycare and trying to work. You feel like you are fighting an up hill battle.. I am thinking of you!
kit_kats_mom replied: Man that is awful! I wish I was closer so I could help. Good luck finding a new place. Have you looked into home care?
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Oh my that's short notice! That doesn't seem right for the owners of the building to be able to do that.
Are they going completely out of business or are they going to find another location? Maybe you could find someone to temporarily watch the girls until the daycare gets going again. Good luck finding something fast!
Boo&BugsMom replied: One week? Yikes! What is wrong with people? I've already decided that this is my last school year doing home childcare/preschool but when that time does come I wont give any less than 1 month. That is just unprofessional of those owners to do that to them! Maybe they'll find another location.
MyBabeMaddie replied: Wow thats crazy! One week is definitely not enough time! I hope you can figure out some arrangements and quick!
