About baby cereals!???
catou_98 wrote: Well, since camille is now eating *mostly* table/finger foods...it seems she doesn't want anything to do with her baby cereal anymore wich she used to LOVE, and I know it's important for babies to eat them until they are 2 years old, so what do I do? I mean, I try to give her some about every couples days but everytime i put a spoonfull in her mouth she makes a yucky face and spits them right back out! what do i do? do i just let it go? well thanks for any help!
mummy2girls replied: how about the quaker oats cereal? I tried giving it to jenna because she is the same way with it and she LOVES the quaker oatmeal..peaches and cream are her fav. Also try putting yogurt in with the baby cereal. I tried that this morning and she actually likes it. The first bite was more of a trial spit out bite but then she started to lick her lips and that was it she wanted more
DansMom replied: Daniel has never accepted cereal---except "Prunes and Oatmeal" in a jar, even though he likes neither of those separately!
MommyToAshley replied: Do you put fruit in it? Ashley will only eat it with fruit in it. Also, I give her little chunks of fresh fruit to eat as finger food while I shovel in the cereal. LOL. If I were to just try to give her the cereal, she wouldn' eat it. She is ok with it as long as she has the finger foods to eat along with it.
CantWait replied: I had to do the same thing with Robbie when he was a baby after awhile. Putting fruit in it, either chunks, or the baby jar kind.
You can also try oatmeal, or cream of wheat.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I have the same problem, Kaitlin will kinda eat the Rice cereal but only with pears mixed in (I tried everthing!) but she will not have anything to do with the oatmeal! I did tyr the jared cereal she will eat the oatmeal with pears and cinninon! She is picky when it comes to cereal! I have almost mixed in sweat patotes just to see if she would eat it, but I could not bring myself to do it!
Mommieto2Girls replied: Maddie won't touch any infant cereal anymore either. She also won't eat jar food either. She either spits it out or refuses to even taste it. So she eats whatever I eat and thats pretty much it.
amynicole21 replied: Yea, Sophia refuses the baby cereal, too. I figure she gets her fill from cheerios and mommy's milk, so I'm not too worried.
Mommieto2Girls replied: I am gonna give maddie the daily vitamins to help with what she isn't getting that she needs. Maybe you can give her that to help supplment.
ediep replied: jason refuses cereal too! Actually, he doesn't really eat any jar baby food anymore. We are working on table food
Guest_Schnoogly replied: Can someone tell me why cereal is so important? Our doc has never said we need to give it, but my mom is always telling me to. Iain hates it (although he did eat the gerber peach/strawberry with mixed grains--oats and barley--this morning). Also cereal makes him really constipated (oatmeal and rice cereal) when he does eat it.
ediep replied: The cereal has added iron, but I don't think it is a big deal if he doesn't like it. You could always try barley...thats supposed to help loosen stools. Jason wouldn't really eat much cereal, he ate those tender harvest jar cereal banana-oatmeal-peach and peach-strawberry-mixed grains for a while, now he won't really eat any jarred food
