About the Ashley Simpson - lip singing thing....

TeagansMom609 replied: The one episode of "The Ashlee Simpson Show" they were showing her talking about how she was losing her voice when she woke up that morning (the day she was to perform on SNL) and everyone (including her manager father) was freaking out like well you cant tell them you cant sing...you cant cancel, so what should we do?! Well from what I saw, it was either back out last minute, or lip sync. If that was the truth about her losing her voice then heck, I dont blame her for doing it. I would have too. I dont think she would perform "live" at all of her other performance's and then just decide not to on SNL for no reason. You know? Oh well, thats what I have gotten from the whole thing. You know who I see lip synch ALOT? Brittany Spears. I think out of all of those female pop starts Christina Auguillara has the best voice. IMO

Oh my gosh-I can't stand watching her sing because she ALWAYS lip synchs! And she isn't good at it either.

I think Ashley Simpson is an O.K. singer, but she wouldn't have had a chance without Jessica being her sister and without MTV giving her her own tv show. Her personality really annoys me too.

mckayleesmom replied: I don't think that the lip singing thing was a big deal personally...they all do it and if they say they don't they are full of beans too....I just think it was wrong of snl to say they didn't know.....somebody at snl knew because she used their audio equipment...she didn't have a boomb box behind her. I also saw that episode on Ashley...I also saw one where she went to the throat doctor and he told her to take it easy on her voice because her cords were swollen or something.

I totally agree with you on that, I saw the show and thought the same thing.

I think that we would all be suprised to find out just who ALL lips their songs every now and then. So I am not holding it against her. But the only thing that really gets me is that at the end of the SNL show, she got back on and said "sorry yall, my band played the wrong song", now how could she speak then?????

A&A'smommy replied: Lip synching doesn't bother me I don't care about that, SNL well yeah they should just have just admitted that they knew and that it shouldn't be that big of a deal because she had a bad sore throat!

Ashlee Simpson is an OKAY singer I agree with the fact that if Jessica wasn't her sister she wouldn't have a chance!! I can't STAND Britney spears nor do I like her littler sister, Christina Aguilera has a beautiful voice BUT she tries to hard to get away from the "pop" look she tries to be too sluty (no offense). I like Mandy Moore but her career has kinda gone down since she started acting her first movie did pretty good but everyone kinda ignored her after that (even though I have a few of her other movies). I like Jessica Simpson she doesn't try to be anything other than herself she is really dizty but she seems so much more down to earth, and less dramatic than most.

Mandasmomma replied: I just had to post this - because it was announced at the show that she would be doing it. My best friend was there - and yes, SNL should stand by her.

I actually like her - and think she is talented. She has been in the entertainment field for awhile - not only because of Jessica. She was an actress before she started singing - and that is one thing not a lot of people know.

Just wanted my 2 cents to let that be known...for what they are worth.

JessC replied: Well its like, I think everyone knows she is a bad singer, and if she had bad vocal coards she should have said something to the audiance and I dont think it would have been that big of a deal. Although she also I guess started out with the wrong song! She is trying to be better than her sister but its not happening, I think she is jealous of her sister personally.

I like her show but I dont like her voice. I have some respect for her but other times I just oh my gosh!
I do agree with britney spears too, I went to a concert of hers in portland and she was dancing all around like she does... its like she would have no breath to sing also!!

Plus she stinks any way she should go back to acting she does that a lot better.

My2Beauties replied: Well I saw the episode of the Ashlee Simpson show and she said that her vocal chords were sore before she went on and she was freaking out. I'm not trying to like come to her rescue or anything but I would have done the same thing in her situation. She doesn't hold a candle to her sister's voice but I still think she has a unique voice herself. She doesn't lip sync a lot if you ask me, like most singers do. ITA about Britney Spears - she constantly lip syncs! I think Jessica is the best pop singer there is right now beacuse of her voice and her personality, she is really down to earth and is just herself!

Mommy2BAK replied: I'm not sure why everyone always compares her to her sister. They are both their own persons with thier own identities. I love both of them, but they are in totally different genres of music. I personally feel bad for Ashlee, she is doing her best and the punk rock genre seems to love her, Hello... she sold over a million records the FIRST day her album came out. Did Jessica ever do that? But I agree that lip syncing was a bad idea. Not to mention she lost a LOT of fans over it.
