All the snow it takes...

Seriously?
And we're supposed to get a MAJOR storm tonight and tomorrow with several whole INCHES.
The whole city is gonna shut down!

CantWait replied: Are you kidding me
Kentuckychick replied: Lol... I wish I was!
If you click on this link Lexington News -- you'll see that this is a MAJOR big deal in Kentucky.
Because 3 inches is a "Major winter storm"
The sad fact is when all is said and done we'll probably get an inch. If even.
CantWait replied: Can ya believe that Jen
I bet you're cursing under your breath right now lol
lisar replied: It is pretty though
My2Beauties replied: Not in Louisville honey....our schools are open and the roads are clear. Nothing shuts down here!! The only time we had a bad time with snow was in 1994 when we got 16 inches and then a couple of years ago we had a new salt truck plan or something in place that failed miserably and the snow was left on major roads for a couple days, the salt trucks did not respond as quickly as they should have. Since then, our roads are normally perfectly fine, except back roads of course.
Kentuckychick replied: Lol, correction...
all the snow it takes in Lexington, Kentucky
Kaitlin'smom replied: thats sad, its a normal day here in southern ohio with that little snow, now we are supposed to get some tonight I dont know if it will be enough to close school but it might delay it. We will see.

Kentuckychick replied: Saddest of all... we know the reasons why everything gets canceled... because when it snows like this in Lexington, people lose all intelligence. It's like "Oh my Gawd! What is that white stuff falling from the sky!! I need to get in my car and drive so fast home because I'm ascared of the fluff!"
And then... CRASH!
50 wrecks in a matter of an hour. That's typical with a few flurries here.
I won't even leave my house in it because I really don't want to get rearended by some ignoramous.
My2Beauties replied: The sad thing is we don't ever close for anything but the people still drive like ignoramouses when snow hits the ground! LMBO!
lovemy2 replied: Ha that happens here in upstate NY in like early JULY
Danalana replied: That's actually a fair amount. We never get that much...we usually don't even see any. They close school for much less here. It's usually more for ice, though. A lot of kids live in rural areas (a lot of dirt roads and stuff) and they don't wanna run the buses.
blondemom replied: My boys had school today. The county I live in though didn't have school, my kids go to an Independent school in Kentucky.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Yeah but you ought to see the holler my aunt & uncle live in in Eastern KY. Even with that much snow, the road would be treacherous. Part of their road isn't even a "hard road" (paved for you city people ).
3xsthefun replied:
Yeah, that is all it takes for our schools to shut down also.
We are suppose to be getting hit by a big winter storm also. A whole 4 inches.
I remember when we got hit by a foot of snow when I was a kid. Now that is a snow storm!
CantWait replied:
I love this line, made my night.
Kentuckychick replied: Yeah... I went to private school... we never got out for anything.
amymom replied: Ok This did not close school today! in upstate NY.... because it was yesterday. It still snowed all day today.
SNOW STORM
Tomorrow we are expected to get more!
PS: That is not at my house, just near here.
lovemy2 replied: Yeah well Watertown is pretty much as close to Alaska as you can get in upstate NY - they get some SNOOOOWWWWW up there
Kentuckychick replied:
I'm positive that if we got snow like that here in Lexington... people would die in their homes. And those that didn't die in their homes would die outside trying to have fun but really just being dumb.
MommyToAshley replied: Now that is more like it. LOL.
We are supposed to get between 6-12 inches tomorrow, but usually when they say that we get an inch or two. It's when they don't predict it that we get a lot. They don't usually close school here over a few inches.... it's when we get freezing rain or drifting snow and they can't keep the roads clear that they close the schools.
