Al's in Ballet! - and a question

PrairieMom wrote: I officially signed Al up for Ballet class this morning, and she starts monday. wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif I have been waiting FOREVER to put my baby girl into ballet, like since before I was married. rolling_smile.gif The time is finally here!
I got her a tiny leotard and she has teeny tiny slippers on hold for her at the school. EEKKKK!!!! I am so excited. She will probably hate it. rolling_smile.gif

So, question about leotards and underpants. You wear underpants with them right? How do you keep the underpants from creeping out the bottom of the leotard?

skinkybaby replied: The dance school my daughter goes to prefers that they don't wear panties.

I hope she has fun! They always looks so cute in their little tights and leotards!

PrairieMom replied: any clue where i can find 2-3T dance tights? huh.gif the smallest I saw at Target was I think a 7. She won't need them for summer, but if ( when ) she continues, she will need them for the fall.

skinkybaby replied: Walmart and Payless sometimes has them! I buy mine online usually, and the dance studio sells them too.

lesliesmom replied: Do they have to be ballet pink tights? I have (in a pinch) gotten away with using opaque tights. Also, I think I've picked some up at Target and Payless.

As for tights/Undies thing... I hate when the undies peak out but my school has no "policy" on this. DD (7) wears undies and they do show through. However, for her recital Mommy bans her from wearing the undies....

coasterqueen replied: Hopefully she'll like it as much as you've been excited waiting for it. happy.gif

No undies under leotards for us, although they do it anyways. Which means constantly picking at the seat of their pants. growl.gif rolleyes.gif Can't ya tell that one drives me nuts? tongue.gif

PrairieMom replied: OK, no undies it is.
I am SO excited! I can't wait to see her with her outfit on. wub.gif I will have to practice buns happy.gif

Why do they have such strict dress codes? ONLY pink or black leotard? why not another color? and this studio requires a removable skirt, only pink tights, pink shoes.
Thankfully they don't enforce the dress code in the summer because I accidentally bought the leotard with attached skirt. ( GASP!) rolleyes.gif mainly because i was concerned about the under pants thing.

CantWait replied: I so can't wait to see the pics for this one. Good Luck, hope she enjoys it.

mckayleesmom replied: I vote no panties either....to me a leo is like a bathing suit.

My2Beauties replied: Hanna doesn't wear panties under hers for gymnastics, I hate when kids do because their panties always come out from under the leotard and looks really awful. I understand parents wanting their kids to wear them underneath though. Meijer's (if you have them in your area) has them in that size.

jcc64 replied: We do gymnastics--and only the non potty trained kiddies wear anything under their leos. The girls on the competitive team NEVER wear undies. If you get a good fitting leo, wedgies aren't an issue.

A&A'smommy replied: yes please put panties under lol most teachers prefer it and you can get her a skirt to go over her leotard to hide them tongue.gif

luvmykids replied: Aw, she'll be an adorable ballerina! wub.gif Did you look for tights in the baby section, not the other section with kids socks and tights? That's where I always found them in that size.

A&A'smommy replied:
if you can't find them try www.discountdance.com

HuskerMom replied: I hope she has a lot of fun!!
