Am I the only one disturbed by this?
DillsMommy wrote: Has anyone seen commercials for those "kidz bop" cd's? I HATE them. It's a bunch of 7 8 9 year old's singing ADULT/teen songs. I'm sure they probably have no idea what they are singing about. But obviously parents are buying them because I just saw a commercial for "kidz bop 14"
Celestrina replied: Absolutely. From what I remember seeing in the commercials for the first few, they weren't all that bad. Lately, its just been . However, people buy Bratz (or Slutz as I call them) for their daughters of all ages. They look like they should be standing on a street corner!
mckayleesmom replied: I'm not...but that is probably because I dont censor what my children hear. I think they are going to hear it regardless...so I just explain to them what is appropriate to say and what isn't...
I do notice that those cd's sometimes have changed lyrics so they are more kid friendly.
gr33n3y3z replied: I dont care for them but then again no one here has an intrest in them
A&A'smommy replied: YES I am!!! I don't care HOW edited they are they are still talking about adult things no child should be singing those songs
luvmykids replied: ITA
jacobsmama replied: One day Jacob was seeing a song that was from a rap radio station and I know he doesn't hear that from me I was like huh???? He said mom it is on teen bopp?? I was confused until I heard the commercial.
It is adult songs with kids singing them..not the best thing.
CantWait replied: I use to listen to these when I was a little girl as well. I never thought twice about the lyrics, they were the same songs I listened to from the original artists, but I liked that they were kids singing them as well.
my2monkeyboys replied: I hate them bc I hate most of those songs and I hate to hear kids sing like that (yeah, I know I'm rotten)! But it also bothers me that the kids are singing songs that really are not appropriate for them. It doesn't bother me for adults to sing them and children to hear them, really, bc you can say that's an adult talking about that, but to hear a kid singing about the same thing is a little unnerving. And that's where the whole thing about adults doing things kids can't/shouldn't do comes in, too, as a life lesson. Did that make any sense???
MommyToAshley replied: A few years ago, we got Ashley that Kids Star karokee machine. Anywyas, the kidsbob cd's are what came with it. We never used those discs but instead hooked up a regular boom box to it and played her kids music through it.
Calimama replied: I'm not a fan of a 8 year old singing about her boyfriend leaving her and moving out of the house..
luvmykids replied: Or writing a love song, or going to the Bahamas with Shortie
