luvbug00 replied: she's a very sweet child that is for sure. Honestly though i hate when parents bring their kids in for the cute factor. It's about talent and i'm sure when she gets older she will have a beautiful voice and i can't wait to hear her then. but i can't believe they sent her threw becuase if somone older sang that the same way they would have gotten buzzed immidiately.

Well the the song is usually sang by a child. It was originally written and sang by James Ingram and Linda Ronstadt but everyone is used to hear a child's voice singing it in the cartoon 'An American Tail'. I think that's why she could get away with singing it and being overly cute.

DH and I actually cried when she was up there. We were watching her and had to keep hurrying up and wiping our tears so we wouldn't miss her. She was sooooo adorable.

::ETA:: I told DH that it was cute but she better come back with another cute child song because what else could she do?

i think she did great for a 4 year old, which i think was the point, she did an amazing job for her age. however, i do think that with david hasselhoff and sharon osbourne as judges, that competition has a lot to be desired...since when are they in a position to judge singing talent?!
btw, i think what was most impressive about this little girl was her ability to get up on stage and sing for such a crowd...how many of us would be able to do that?
