An update on the new job

My2Beauties wrote: OK so his testing and stuff is already done. He called me earlier on his first break, he didn't sound so excited. dry.gif First of all the salary isn't much more than what he already makes, the reason his cousin told him it was so high was because of the OT you get. He would have to work almost 80 hours to make what she said he would make. Then she told him the base salary was something totally different then what they told him today in orientation. It was $9000 difference than what she told him they said. Also they admitted in the orientation to the prospective employees that it's extremely hard on the person at home the first few years of this job because they ask that when they employees go home they focus on sleeping, since most of the time you probably have to work around a 12 hours shift, you get sent home for 8 hours and then you can be called back into work after your 8 hours is up dry.gif I didn't know it was that bad, I thought you worked an 8 hours shift, came home and then the next day you might have to work a different 8 hours shift then what you worked the day before. He isn't as enthusiastic about it now. I mean I could deal with the time away for the 7 weeks, because after the 5th week he comes back for a week and he could come home on weekends etc...but having to deal with him only being home 8 hours a day and sleeping that 8 hours to top it off, I would be really ticked off all the time having to deal with everything! He is meeting me for lunch here in about 20 minutes so I'll get the whole of it then. Also the lady didn't tell him over the phone, this p'd me off, he had to pay $30 to take his test today, no one told him! nice huh! mad.gif I'm not so excited about this job anymore, I'll update more once I get back from lunch with him!

mammag replied: Oh poo! I would be rethinking the whole thing myself. That sounds like a lot of hardship for not much more money. That really sucks since he was so excited. So sorry it's not what he thought.

mckayleesmom replied: Nope...I wouldn't go for it after that. It would be ok for a single person, but what about you and Hannah? Maybe he can get a job as a mailman or ups or something...they make good money don't they?

coasterqueen replied: Sorry to hear that. At least you found out now before you pay more money for the classes, right? grouphug.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I am sory its not turing out the way it was described, maybe the cousin did not understand or have all the info. sounds like a very ruff life espicaly with a new wife and family.... sad.gif

MissyKay2005 replied: Hope it all works out for you! Sounds to me he should rethink the idea of going for this job. God bless hun smile.gif

JAYMESMOM replied: Sorry it wasn't everything his cousin said it was. Maybe you guys can retalk it and figure out what you want to do.

Don't jeopardize you guys over money it is never worth it in the long run.

Sunflower04 replied: Everything is always to good to be true. Hopefully something even better comes up. sad.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Well sounds like he probably doesn't need to pursue it!!! Good luck with whatever you guys decide!!

amymom replied: Aww that stinks. sad.gif But I bet whatever you decide will be right for you all!

Candee replied: Sorry. Hope things get better later on.
