Another TEXAS size bug!
BAC'sMom wrote: Look what we found today. It must be all the rain that we have had lately. I still Abbie has me beat.

redchief replied: What will it become?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It looks like a tree grub!!!
It's HUGE!!
But, it's kind of pretty!
BAC'sMom replied: Not sure Ed, I will have to do some research. I am going to let the kids keep it over night in their bug box. No telling what I will wake up to in the morning....Godzilla maybe.
cameragirl21 replied: that's a moth and it is beautiful, tfs!
redchief replied: This is what it will become (I think).
luvmykids replied: Jimmie you know I love your pics, always, but it's still a BIG BIG BUG
CantWait replied:
The before is definetly prettier then the after. Still kinda gross though.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: well, there ya go.
Maybe it will turn into this:

That's Maddie holding a moth we found....I'm saving it for when she has to collect her 100 bugs in high school.
cameragirl21 replied: oh...that one is just stunning! was it dead when you found it? how did you find it all perfect like that? i wish we had moths like that here....
Calimama replied: I agree. It was pretty before it turns into that thing.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Isn't it beautiful?
Scotty's aunt owns a Sears store down in E. TX and we found it out at her store when we were down there one day. That is exactly how we found it, too. Isn't that weird? And yes, it was dead when we found it.
I've never in my life seen anything like it and if I saw that thing flying around I'd run screaming.
I can't remember what his aunt called it.
Anthony275 replied: that thing is so thick! but i like the colors
punkeemunkee'smom replied:
We have those down here too Aimee. I believe they are called OH HOLY SH*^! That is what we call them anyway....
They are beautiful but they do sound like a small plane flying by your head and when they hit glass door sometimes I have thought someone was knocking!
I don't know Jimmie...that thing that I had in the yard was NOT as big as Taylor's face! I will share the scary bug trophy with you!
maestra replied: We find these in Arizona- they are called palo verde root borers. They are between 2 and three inches long, although I swear the one I saw outside was bigger!
redplaydoh replied: I LOVE the second picture... I think it's the look on the face that says.... Hehehe LOOK what I've found!...
kit_kats_mom replied: very cool. You can go to whatsthatbug.com and you can usually find anything. I love that site. I know I've seen that one on the site. Very cool
MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
That's exactly what I'd call it!
Mommy2BAK replied: I HATE BUGS!!! But that first one was kind of pretty, in a "as long as it stays outside and FAR AWAY from me" kind of way
MommyToAshley replied: Why did I open this thread? I HATE HATE HATE bugs. I'm sure I will have nightmares about bugs tonight.
Crystalina replied: Those are lovely pictures!!! Frame them!
holley79 replied:
That's too funny
BAC'sMom replied: My son let the cobra go this morning, he felt sorry for it in the bug box. Now it is happily chomping on my hummingbird vine again.
