Another decorating question - are you tired of me yet?

coasterqueen wrote: biggrin.gif Ok, I bought the bedding I mentioned in another thread earlier today. I took pictures of it. I don't have the shams in the picture or the bed skirt. I just put the duvet cover on the bed I have now. I won't be getting the new mattresses (bigger one) until next week. I will have the same bed frame, but without the footboard. Also in this picture is an old chest of Ryan's aunt, but I am going to put that somewhere else and get a regular bench for the end of the bed. Oh and excuse the mess in my room and the blue toybox. tongue.gif

Now that is all out of the way which color should I go with for the curtains? I was thinking some kind of cream to match the bedding but Dh now thinks we should go with chocolate brown.

What do you think? TIA for all your help ladies. thumb.gif

Pictures below....(also keep in mind I do not have the comforter yet to go in the duvet cover and I have shams to match the duvet cover and chocolate covered shams to match the quilt at the end of the bed.)

coasterqueen replied: Well for some reason the rest of the pictures won't post. Grrrr. I hope that picture will give you an idea. It's a terrible picture. blush.gif blush.gif

luvmykids replied: I say the chocolate color for the windows, I think it will add some definition and "weight" to the walls. Looks good! thumb.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Definitely the chocolate....sorry, DH is right! It should be a contrast to the wall color, not blend in. Is that a blanket on the bed, the chocolate color? I think it looks great so far and can't wait to see it all done!!!

coasterqueen replied:
Yes, it's a chocolate quilt. I know the whole look looks terrible at the moment. Once I get my new mattress, the foot board off, my new comforter, etc, etc I think it will look a lot better. Right now it doesn't look so pretty. tongue.gif

jcc64 replied: I like the idea of a darker color for the curtains, Karen. If you're afraid that a chocolate will be too dark, why not a stripe with both colors in it? I agree that you could use a little punch.

Kaitlin'smom replied: deffinalty chocolate for the curtains

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I LOVE IT!!!! That bedding is really pretty!

I agree the chocolate curtains will look perfect in there! thumb.gif

ETA: Where did you get the bedding if you don't mind my asking? happy.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Nope, I don't mind. tongue.gif They have it at Linens & Things and Bed Bath and Beyond. At Bed Bath and Beyond they have it on clearance. At LT it's not so if you wanted to get it go with BBB. Also BBB has their 20% off one item coupon right now AND they will take LT's 20% off one item coupons right now too. thumb.gif The guy at BBB last night said if I print out some more LT coupons online and bring them in with my receipt I can get 20% off of every item I bought last night! So I plan to do that for sure. thumb.gif

ETA: Both stores have it online, too. So you can go out there and see how much it all costs.

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: ITA the chocolate curtains would look best. I love the bedding. Nice choice. smile.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Wow...so they'll actually take BOTH coupons??? ohmy.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Yes! I know. I was shocked too. Wish I would have known that in past times. rolleyes.gif This guy, and I swear if he's wrong I'm going to come after him happy.gif , said I can bring my receipt back with as many BBB and LT coupons and get all the other items I got 20% off. I used one BBB and one LT coupon last night. Every little bit helps. thumb.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: That's a great deal!!! I wish they had that bedding I want (the aqua). And unfortunately we aren't even ready to buy it. sad.gif

But, you've had me thinking about it again. I saved several of my favorites and I'm going to ask Scotty his opinion tonight. (he's another DH who likes input on these things. happy.gif ) I'm really not sure what I want to do as far as color goes. I want something I won't get sick of so quickly. Then again, I like bold colors. laugh.gif wacko.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Good choice! Really pretty. I say go with chocolate too.
