Another how old? - bum wiping *lol*

CantWait wrote: Sorry I couldn't think of a better way of saying it. How old were your kids before they starting wiping their bums after going potty by themselves?

I still don't let Anthony. dunno.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee does already...She is 3.....And sometimes she will come out and get a baby wipe and do it again.

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe you can get him the moist wipes or give him a box of baby wipes to do it for a while...Its easier for kids to clean themselves with wet then dry...

TANNER'S MOM replied: I don't know I would say 3-4 depending on the kids. I am not saying there hasn't been accidents either. I used to leave wipes for them to use it was easier to get clean.

Now my Sis In Law would still wipe her kids butt till he was 6.. My kids stink to bad for that mess..

I think it just depends on the kid. And to be honest the first time they don't get clean.. they will be miserable and learn to do it right. Sometimes thats pretty effective.

ediep replied: its funny. st school Jason will wipe himself, I guess he is too embarressed to ask the teacher for help, but at home he always asks for help.

Some of my my friends 4 year olds wipe themselves and some ask for help

Hillbilly Housewife replied: If you didn't already know... Emilie was potty trained at 18 months... I wiped her until she was about 25 months or so... then she wanted to do it on her own, so i'd let her do it, then I'd "make sure she did it" then after a couple months she did it on her own completely. I haven't checked her butt in a long time... but either way... no tracks in her undies, and she takes a bath pretty much every night...

my2monkeyboys replied: Will was doing it on his own at about 3, with those flushable wet wipes. Now he just uses TP and says, "I'm doing privacy. Please leave." if I walk in on him. No marks in his undies, so he's doing a pretty good job I think. laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied: Kylie just started wiping herself w/no help probably 4 or 5 months ago, maybe. I was more concerned of her wiping the wrong way and causing bacterial infections "up front" so I told her I'd do the wiping. I taught her front to back, but sometimes, well you know, they forget.

But there are occassions where she doesn't get wiped all the way and I still have to help her.

holley79 replied: I thought it said bum whiping. I really need to get my eyes checked or something. emlaugh.gif

I know I started getting Trevor to wipe his own bum when he was almost 3. He got to a point where he was BIG enough to do it himself and he didn't WANT me to do it anymore. rolleyes.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: The girls have learned to do it themselves from the beginning.
On occassion, Christian has me to do it.

Kellie is still pt'ing, but she does it herself.

booey2 replied: I think Matthew started to wipe his own when he was around 4 and 1/2 or 5. Thoms will still ask for help when he is at home but at school he is on his own, so when he is at home and asks me, I always shoot back that he can do it himself. But he still wants my help. Oh well, I can't get near the bathroom these days when Matthew is in there, even if he is only peeing, he locks the door. I think it is time DH built me another washroom in our house we only have 1. sad.gif

Terri

CantWait replied:
You know Terri, it's funny. I always wanted 2 bathrooms also, but now that we have the 2, the second one hardly gets used. Go figure dunno.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner started around 3 1/2-4. I still have to insepect him sometimes (or look in the toilet to see what 'kind' it is) because he has such loose bowels a lot and he gets a bit careless about it. dry.gif

ETA: we use flushable wipes for him too. He does a much better job with them. thumb.gif

booey2 replied:
I can relate, we only really need a second powder room with a can and sink. Right now if someone is in it and the boys need to go they will go down and use my old icky laundry tub followed by some bleach. I think the second one will be used for emergency mostly. But I still want a full one for me. wink.gif blush.gif Yup I am being selfish.

CantWait replied:
Ron use to do this ALL the time in the old house. #@$@ in the laundry sink if he was downstairs or in the basement. Use to tick me off mad.gif

holley79 replied: We have 2.5 bath. The .5 bath is downstairs so that makes it nice when we are downstairs. The two full baths upstairs one is DH's/ Annikas and the other is MINE. emlaugh.gif

booey2 replied:
Oh it ticks me off, growl.gif I wasnt' the one to teach them how to do it. I get real ticked when he doesn't use the bleach and then I go and do a load of laundry and nearly puke. Better yet I used to work out in the laundry room on my gazelle, have since move it, and I could tell when he used it and didn't clean up. emlaugh.gif bawling.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: muah ha ha... we have 3 bathrooms... 1 full and two half... we're knocking out the half bath upstairs, but we're building one downstairs. laugh.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
rolling_smile.gif THat's a whole separate post. emlaugh.gif
