Another update on Zavier

ETA~ At 7 days old they have the most vitamin K that will ever be made in our lives....Vitamin K is a coagulant so if they can hold off on blood tests on day 7 it may spare him some unecessary extra poking (I don't know why but they usually want to do the 2nd PKU screen on their 7th day Don't know anyone who hasn't had their baby stuck more than once for that)

ZandersMama replied: Well the machine they needed to do the transfusion broke the bag of blood last night so now it will be done sometime today I hate all the not knowing with this, its killing me, i'm terrified everytime I go to the hospital of what news i am going to get. Oh well, off to pump and head over, thank you everyone for thinking of us and praying for us. I will update when I know more.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Thoughts and prayers. I work in a hospital with a very busy NICU. Transfusions are unfortunately not uncommon with little people. Lab techs take only the minimum amount needed, but preemies have so little blood to start with. I hope everything went well with the transfusion today.

ZandersMama replied: The transfusion is still going on now, but it seems to be going well, he is a fighter!
