Any lurkers out there - just curious

BabyOwen427 replied: Lurker here.
I lurk IRL parties and conversations also. I have always been one to stand on the sidelines and watch people. I find that you learn alot about people by letting them blab on and on Not to offend anyone. Some of the most intelligent people I've met are talkers. My DH is one of them He can talk your ears off about absoulutely nothing. It's great when I'm having trouble getting to sleep at night. I usually ask some complicated question about cars and before long it's
ETA: Sometimes I want to say stuff but I never know what. I've always thought typing is a bit impersonal and I come off cold IRL sometimes and I feel like it's emphasized in typing. So, I hold back to prevent insulting someone unintentially. Which I've done many times IRL accidentally.
MyBabeMaddie replied: lol I did that when I was pregnant and had sleeping issues (especially towards the end) I would ask Adam random questions about work (hes a welder) I had no idea what he was talking about but it would definintely put me to sleep haha
BabyOwen427 replied: works like a charm. Curtis has rebuilt engines and all I have to say is why is it called a chevy 350? and I have the best night's sleep. Althought I think he's on to me
luvmykids replied: I've been lurking a lot lately but it's not my true character Sometimes I just don't have a lot of time so I read rather than post, sometimes I just want to unwind and am too lazy to post
julesmom replied: I am a lurker. I read, but don't really post. Don't have much time, really.

I check the boards several times a day, but it seems like everytime I start to post, one of my boys needs my attention for something else. That, and the board has grown soooo much since I joined in '03 It is just hard for me to keep up with everyone
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm the same way. I've been posting a bit more lately but still not a whole lot - usually I just read and don't try to post anything because I know if I do one of the kids will immediately need me. Like right now I'm typing one handed because I'm hanging on to Allie with the other, and Andrew is hanging on my leg and trying to climb up on my lap. It's just a whole lot easier to read.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Same here
My3LilMonkeys replied: I post to a few topics a day, but read most of them....I just usually am trying to talk on the phone/clean my house/play with the kids etc, etc while I am on here and don't take the time to type a response like I should....

I too am a lurker. I like to keep up with everybody but I don't always post or I see someone has already posted what I would have posted and I don't want to be redundant. No sense in being redundant. I mean if someone else has already said it why repeat it? Nope, don't want to say something someone else said just to post. It's just redundant and I don't like that.
HuskerMom replied: I lurk sometimes too. Sometimes there's topics that I want to post on but don't know what to say.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: LOL I've gone through lurk phases and post phases. I'm trying to be better about posting lately, though. Don't know how successful I've been yet.

booey2 replied: I have to appologize for lurking a lot of the time lately because of all that is going on in our real lives right now. With dealing with my step-dads cancer and work is nutso I rarely have time to sit and breath. Actually I am able to post right now because I am sitting in the back yard using the wireless connection while playing life gaurd to the kids swimming in our pool. I only got home from work about 90 minutes ago and really need time to me but know I won't get much tody, maybe tommorow. I am even sitting here in one of my new swimsuits that I bought last week. So again I appologize for not posting more, I will try and get back here as things slow down.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: We miss you, Terri but I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all have to do what is best for our families at times. Unfortunately, the on-line friendships are the first to get pushed to the back burner when I'm going thru a rough time or when my family needs a little extra of my attention.
Do what's best for you and we will be here when you return.
Maddy'sMommy replied: I post some... but I lurk more. I want to post but usually what I would say has already been said... I am a quiet person anyways... but I find it harder to get to know people on this. I will try and post more...
StephanieM replied: I'm kind of a lurker....sometimes I post though, I just don't know all of you that well and the few times I've posted, I didn't get many responses so I usually just kind of hang out and read. I do post though, just not often I'm kind of new to the group I guess and it's hard to come in to an already formed group and just jump right in, kwim? I'm trying though and look forward to getting to know everyone better and probably posting more.
kimberley replied: i go thru phases of lurking then posting. RL gets busy and sometimes i just don't have the energy to type.. or i have a babe in arms and all my posts would end up like this...
