Any new foods your toddler really likes?

MommyToAshley wrote: CJ'SMOM's post made me ask this. I am just wondering if there are any foods you have given your child lately that they really like. I am looking for some new things to let Ashley try.

The latest things that she has tried that she really liked are:

-- PB&J (But not really Jelly.. I used Simply Fruit which is 100% fruit and no sugar)
-- Chicken Dumplings
-- Stuffing (We had baked chicken, mixed vegs and stuffing the other night. She's always liked chicken and veggies, but I let her try the stuffing and she kept beggin for more)
-- BBQ Sauce (We were having Chicken one day last week and DH gave her a taste of his BBQ sauce. We were expecting a "yucky" face because it was kind of tangy, but instead she said "Yum" and smacked her lips. LOL)

~CrazieMama~ replied: Yeah, Brianna like buttermilk with tomato juice...yuck!!!! rolling_smile.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: You give Ashley PB? Is it safe? I was told not until 3...?

He really likes green grapes, cut in 4.
and ketchup.
lots of ketchup.
if there's something he's not eating, i can put ketchup on it and he'll eat it.

he also REALLY likes ice cream bars. DH and I bought a box- I gave him a bite...now everytime we have one, we have to share - and the little pig will eat about half of it. He really gets his mouth around it...I've bnever seen so much ice cream go into a tiny little mouth.... lol

We've given him pretty much everything that we eat. just not if it's mouth-burning hot.

MommyToAshley replied:
I thought that too, I even made a post about it, I think. But, at her 1 year check-up the Ped said it was ok to give her anything that was not a choking hazard. I asked about Peanut Butter and she said yes, it is ok after 1 years of age. The 3 years of age is only if the parents or a relative have a history of having an allergic reaction to nuts. And, since Ashley snuck the cookie off Daddy's desk that had nuts in it, and ate it, I figured I would go ahead and let her try peanut butter. smile.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: hmmm....maybe I'll give it a try then... lol noone is allergic to nuts in my family

booey2 replied: What really shocked us was one day when I was eating a dill pickle, Thomas came over and wanted a bite, so I gave him one and to our surprise loved it. rolling_smile.gif What will he do next to suprise me?

MommyToAshley replied:
I wouldn't have expected that! LOL rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: she has tried a lot of things and has really liked some of them:

-she likes dill pickles also!
-at Thanksgiving dinner we gave her Turkey and stuffing, loved it
-chicken and noodles
-hamburger
-homemade veggie soup!
-loves crackers and sometimes I give her cheese

She'll try everything we give her and she's eating a lot more,
but her fav is pasta happy.gif

juliajaj replied: Olivia loves sliced cheese. She gobbles up a slice in less than a minute. For DH & my anniversary, I made eggplant parmesan. I didn't think Olivia would like it, but she ate her serving plus more. She also loves any type of pasta & chicken. So far she isn't picky, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that will continue!

paradisemommy replied: taven can't eat enough string cheese smile.gif...watermelon and popsickles...i bought these ones with 100% fruit juice and he just scarfs em down...

and he LOVES ice!!!

ediep replied: Jason loves pasta!! he is 75% Italian, after all

coasterqueen replied: Kylie likes french fries, pasta, lots of pasta, ketchup, and refried beans and brown rice lately, lol.

Heather replied: Alison has become a lover of dips.

She Really loves pastas and potatoes. She loves Chicken and Loves pizza. She also loves Pb&J. I love this age... Its so fun!!!

aspenblue1 replied: Isabeall loves EGGS with ketchup on them. also cheese and kind, but if she see the string cheese she goes graxy until she gets it.

dolfinrse replied: The dr. told us that Zack can finally have #2's. So we decided to try them. We found out he loves Turkey & Rice, Strawberries & Bananas, and Chicken & Apples. It is funny because he would never eat the Turkey or Chicken by themselves (#1's), but he gobbles them down when they are mixed in the jar with another fruit. Also, I didn't think that they could have Strawberries this young, but the jar says #2, so we tried them. He LOVES Them yummy.gif yummy.gif

paradisemommy replied: see..i told you he loves his watermelon.. rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: OMG....that is too funny!!! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Jamison'smama replied: YEA YEA YEA--Jamison tried some new things and actually liked them (today at least)

Broccoli Rice Casserole AND Cottage Cheese

I am so excited that she ate something healthy that wasn't from a jar or purreed
