Any suggestions?

HuskerMom wrote: My DH's friend is coming over tomorrow night and I was thinking about renting a movie. Has anyone seen any good ones lately? Last week we tried You, Me, and Dupree. I liked it but I think it was too much of a chick flick for them smile.gif

Jamison'smama replied: Okay, my DH just rented Talladega Nights, he laughed alot.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Chris wants to see Talladega Nights so we have it on our queue of to be rented movies. I would suggest that, or The Fast and the Furious- Tokyo Drift. I saw that with Chris and liked that one. It was not too chick-flick esque.

stella6979 replied: I agree..I enjoyed Talledaga Nights way more than I expected.

redplaydoh replied:
What is this movie about?? I'm always looking for movies since I don't see the adverts anymore... or at least not in English so I can understand. rolling_smile.gif

stella6979 replied:
It's sort of a "dumb comedy" starring Will Ferrell, who plays a race car driver. Not sure if you know who Will Ferrell is, but usually you either love him or you hate him. I just happen to love him. biggrin.gif Here's a better description of the movie for ya:

NASCAR stock car racing sensation Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a national hero because of his "win at all costs" approach. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo -- "Shake" and "Bake" by their fans for their ability to finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When flamboyant French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) challenges "Shake" and "Bake" for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight Girard for the right to be known as racing's top driver.

redplaydoh replied: Thanks, sounds funny! I like Will Farrell btw too! I'll have to tell DH about this one.

stella6979 replied: Too be honest, I didn't even want to see it at first. It looked too dumb for my taste, but DH always watches my movies so I decided to give it a go. Now, it's probably my favorite Will Ferrell movie. biggrin.gif

Bamamom replied: "Dear Lord baby Jesus.." Sorry - TN is a great funny movie.

If you're looking for something a little more serious I suggest The Gaurdian - OMG good. It is just an awesome move - my dh and I both loved it.

flirtycuddle replied: The Gridiron Gang was good.....me and my dh both liked it

TheOaf66 replied: The Break Up was ok, if it is a couple guys you could always go for Beer Fest or Clerks II which both just came out.

MoonMama replied:
DH really liked Clerks II (I didn't)...other then that I am no help. cool.gif We have Netflix and I just put what I want to see on the list and add something if DH happens to ask which isn't very often or mentions something. So I pretty much pick the movies and he doesn't seem to care what so ever. blush.gif *spoild I know*

HuskerMom replied: Thanks those are all good ideas. I'm sure I'll be able to find something. Course knowing them they'll probably put in a western smile.gif lol

grapfruit replied: I HATED the Break UP. (thought it was dumb)

Movies that maybe good (not chick flicky) (some aren't new)

Constentine w/Keenu Reeves (Tim really liked it too)
Mr and Mrs. Smith w/Brad and Angelia (it takes a bit to get GOOD though)
Any of the Bourne series w/Matt Damon
X-Men (any of them)
Benchwarmers
Pirates of the Caribean
Lady in the Water (by M Night Shamelon)
Butterfly Effect w/Ashton Kutcher

If you need any more I'll pull out my Netflix list. smile.gif
