Anybody read The Lovely Bones?
coasterqueen wrote: I am about 150 pages into this book and I can't put it down. Although the 1st night I read it it gave me nightmares, the whole thing is awful (terrible tragedy), but I'm drawn in.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: It's on my list of books to read. Thanks for the review...keep me posted the more you read.
HuskerMom replied: It's been awhile since I read it. It's a sad book. There's a song by Josh Todd called Lovely Bones about the book and I get all teary eyed when I hear it.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Yep, definately a book that grabs you and hangs on. I liked it, but it was kind of hard to read at times.
amynicole21 replied: I started crying on page one and didn't stop until I finished the book
It takes place in my hometown and the school she attends is based upon my middle school.
They are filming the movie for it now - I can't imagine how sad that would be to watch.
Maddy'sMommy replied: Yeah it is a sad book but I really liked it. I couldn't put it down either. It has been a while since I read it but I gave it to my mom to read b/c I liked it so much.
Brias3 replied: I did, when it first came out. I've reread it since too. GREAT book. You'll love the ending. Such a sad but moving story.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Yes, one of my favorite books. Britt and I both love the book. I read the next book by the same author. She was actually raped, and it's her side of the story and her life afterward. Excellent read all the way around.
luvmykids replied: Yes, it's one of the few that I actually kept and have read it a few times.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: yes and I really liked it
jcc64 replied: I read it a long time ago, but I recall that it was very well written with a very compelling story line. I'm reading "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oates right now, about a newlywed woman whose husband throws himself over Niagra Falls the morning after their wedding night. I can't put it down.
ashade75 replied: my daughter read it her freshman year. I read it along with her to help any questions she may have had. If I remember right it had some very graphic sections, but it was very sad.
Ellie replied: I cried through the whole book. And then I read her memoir, Lucky and I cried even more. They were both excellent books.
Any idea who is going to be in the movie version?
amynicole21 replied: They haven't cast the movie yet, but the director will be Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings). Here's more info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0380510/
Ellie replied: thanks amynicole.
coasterqueen replied: Wow, this is the 1st time I will have read the book before seeing the movie. I'm not sure I would like the movie as well as the book.
