Anyone been to the Grand Canyon?
MommyToAshley wrote: I'd like to go there on our next vacation... has anyone been? I'd love to see the Grand Canyon, but since it will be a family vacation, is there stuff for kids to do there? When we went to Niagra Falls, I was a little disappointed how commercialized it was, but on the other hand, it was nice that there was a ton of stuff for Ashley to do and as a family.
momofone replied: It really is beautiful - when I went I was in vegas and took a day trip there that way we had other things to do like the pool at the hotel shows and such.
grandma replied: I was there like 30 years ago, so I'm sure it's changed...lol It is awesome tho!
luvmykids replied: I've only flown over it I do know lots of people who went, with kids, last summer though, I'll ask them what kinds of things there were.
lisar replied: I have never been there but I have always wanted to go. Have fun...
My2Beauties replied: I've only flown over it too, but it's beautiful! I've always wanted to go visit. I know they have horseback rides and camel rides and helicopter rides as well. That'd be fun, I'm weird about helicopters though
grandma replied: Actually, you use to be able to sign up to ride donkeys down in the canyons. Don't know if they still offer that or not...
3xsthefun replied: I have never been but always wanted to go there.
holley79 replied: I would love to take Annika when she is old enough.
BAC'sMom replied: Yes I have 35 years ago, (man that sounds weird to say) I don't remember much. I want to take my kids back someday when they get a little older.
mom21kid2dogs replied: When we went we were staying in Vegas. Obviously not much other than the incredible beauty of the Grand Canyon at the site itself~much unlike Niagra Falls. Depending on where you stay would likely dictate how much kid stuff there is to do. Everyone should see it~it's so amazing!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: We took a family vacation there when I was younger. We camped the entire way there. It was definitely unforgettable and one of my very favorite trips. The view of the canyon is breathtaking. It really is. We didn't go to the bottom or anything, but I'm sure there are plenty of things to do around there for kids.
My3LilMonkeys replied: All we did at the Canyon itself was walk around and look at how pretty it is. I've heard they put in a glass walkway on part of it where you walk out and the floor is glass so you can look straight down - I'd love to go back and see that!
