Anyone else miss the memo?
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: Since I don't have school-aged kids, I guess someone forgot to tell me that it's SPRING BREAK!!! I took Wil to "school" last Friday (his morning out program) and the doors were locked! So he had to go to my doctor appt with me! He had already missed the last two weeks due to a cold and now he will miss the next two...so that means the WHOLE MONTH of March...and I paid for the WHOLE MONTH!! Then I took the boys to one of those indoor gyms with all the bounce houses this morning, feeling like I was getting there early enough to miss the crowds. Bad idea mommy! PACKED! It was "Preschool Hour", but I guess they allowed some of the big kids in regardless. Wil was a mess after about 30 minutes from being shoved or pushed off of the ladder too many times. Poor guy. He was probably the smallest one in there.
Sorry to complain, because I know it will be me someday (with older boys)...but did anyone else miss the memo like me? I had planned to go to the zoo tomorrow with our playgroup, but I'm thinking twice now!! Stop messing up my routine people!!!! j/k
amynicole21 replied: Awww, bummer! They should have let you know about that well in advance. I hope you find something fun to do with them that isn't too crowded.
stella6979 replied: Yep, I must have missed it as well. Last week I noticed a bunch of kids playing outside and I kept thinking to myself...."what the heck are these kids doing home, and where are their parents while they're skipping school". LOL!
holley79 replied: I'm sorry about all that. Why didn't they let you know ahead of time. That's crazy.
I hope you are able to find something to do with the kids.
lisar replied: I knew. Sorry Lexi's school gives you a calander at the beginning of the year and each month they send home a new home.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Sorry about that. Christian's school has that info in their school handbook, they attach notes to the backs of the children, plus they hang signs on the doors. So all parents know what days are half days and holidays.
Danalana replied: Hehe...well, I knew it was spring break, and I don't even have any kids!
moped replied: Spring Break is next week here....but yes Iwould have missed that memo big time!!!!!
msoulz replied: Our spring break doesn't come until the week after Easter.
Cece00 replied: Ours either.
A&A'smommy replied: We had spring break last week!!!
I'm sorry ya'll had a bad day at the gym!!
luvmykids replied: I only knew since my kids are on Spring Break, otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue. And I'm loving every minute of it, I didn't realize what a toll the 30 minutes each way MWF takes on our schedule!
MommyToAshley replied: Yuck... not a fun way to find out about Spring Break. I hope the rest of your week goes better. I wonder if they can give you a break on the tuition since you missed the entire month... probably not, but worth a try.
Ours isn't until the week after Easter, so I wouldn't have known either.
Crystalina replied: No SB here yet.
Brias3 replied: We have a two week spring break going on right now at Ryan and Aliyah's school.
Honestly though, it is annoying. I've been trying to keep them entertained the last week or so and everywhere kid-friendly is overrun. How obnoxious.
It's funny how spring break can really remind you of how nice it is that our kids go to school for seven hours a day! (Can you tell I'm having a rough week?)
Hope you find something not so crowded and fun for the boys to do!
Calimama replied: Same here!! It seems like California kids are always out for something.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well there is a schedule of "off" days in the mom's morning out handbook...I just didn't remind myself to look at it. So it's totally my fault, but a friendly reminder would have been nice, especially since Wil was out the past two weeks. Oh well. $45 down the drain! They do not reimburse you for missed days (sick or not), nor do they reimburse you for days off since we follow the school district's day's off.
I'm heading to the zoo today...Crossing fingers that it isn't too busy since it's not that warm (but sunny) outside.
CantWait replied: Sorry. They should have got word out to you one way or another to let you know there was no preschool. And those bigger kids should know better, if not, the parents.
