Anyone ever try 7's?
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: You know the brand Seven for All Mankind jeans? Well they make them now in maternity!! Maybe they did last year, but this is new to me!! I had the ugliest jeans when I was PG with Wil, funny colors, no pockets, totally unflattering, so I want to go get some of these because I think they're really cute and said to flatter everyone! Expensive, I know, and brand names have never meant anything to me, but my sis just told me that they make them with such a small maternity band that you can wear them during all trimesters and even afterward without it being obvious that they're maternity pants! I need to figure out this whole Ebay thing, because I'm thinking of buying some there so I can get a deal. Help. Just wondering if anyone has a pair (the maternity kind) and what you think!?
Here's a pic of a maternity pair if you don't know what they are.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I never tried them but they are really cute!
Let us know how they work out!
ions_momma replied: I never tried them either. They are really cute though!
3xsthefun replied: I've never tried them either, but I do think they are cute!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I haven't worn them in the maternity style, but have otherwise and they are very comfortable and fit PERFECT! I tried them on at the store a few weeks ago and fell in love. I"m going to get some on Ebay, too.
Let me know how you like them when you get them. Have you ever bought off ebay before?
Mommy2BAK replied: I wore them when I was pregnant, I loved them
six_kids_at_28 replied: My sister who is preggy has them!!! She loves them!! Good luck!
coasterqueen replied: I never had that name brand but I had a generic brand that was similar. I got them at a consignment shop for $12. I loved them and wore them a bit after I had Megan. The ones I had were definitely worth them. I actually have held on to them in case jeans aren't clean and I need a pair to wear just in case.
Edit to say that a lot of people find them uncomfortable to wear later in pregnancy. I did a bit. I had to put the band under my belly and it somewhat dug into my belly so I had to constantly "stretch" the band so I could wear them. Course my legs got thicker as my pregnancy went on so eventually I couldn't wear them.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I have never wore the 7's.. but my daughters have... In my opionion they better be comfortable or be gold for the price. I got lucky and found a few pairs at consignment shops for the girls.. but still 60-70 used..wow
It is my goal to wear them when I am thin though!
A&A'smommy replied: OMG those are SOOO cute!!!
moped replied: LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!
coasterqueen replied: OMG Mel! $60-70 USED???? What in the heck do they cost brand new? Oh my freakin gosh, they better be gold for THAT price....for me at least. Holy moly. My poor girls, they have a rude awakening coming their way when they are older. They better get in really good with some rich boys.
They better be happy they'll have a college fund and not a grand wardrobe.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm sure at times they won't be...they'll want the more popular clothes instead of a college fund when they are teenagers. Some day they will thank you, though.
Seven jeans range in price from $70-$200+ new. It depends what style they are. The have some with crystals on the back pockets and those cost more.
coasterqueen replied: You are probably right, as teenagers they might not. They'll have to get over it. Hopefully if we bring them up right they won't be like that though....crossing my fingers and praying I had the same issue in highschool and I had to work to pay for clothes if I wanted expensive ones...I just didn't buy expensive ones and I made sure I just didn't hang around people who thought they were so important. I might be in a dream world but DH and I plan to teach them better. They might get the peer pressure thing, but that's life.
I could see spending that kind of money if one was rich and had a hole burning in your pocket But man! That's a lot of dough that would buy college text books, go towards several margaritas that I will have in retirement, etc.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Those are cute, but expensive!! I got some really cute maternity jeans from JCPenney and they came in talls!!
TANNER'S MOM replied: Oh I couldn't pay what they wanted in the store for sure..around here you can't get a new pair for less than 140.00
And of course they are all the rage,
7's, Lucky's Abercrombie..and they are all around 70 dollars a pair.
But I guess they find my weakness.. I really wanted to be fashionable in school. But my Dad raised me..and clothes was not an important thing. They were whatever we had and mostly used. I remember being teased about it alot.. and to be honest I quit school. I went back a year later but only to night school b/c I felt so out of place. My 7 jeans were Guess jeans back in the day.. everyone had them. And I didn't. Man I envied those pants.. I wanted them so bad. Everyone had them and they were from 30.00 to 50.00 then.. and there was No way I was going to get any... and I went to a yard sale with my Aunt.. and I found a pair for $7.00 and I used all my money to pay them. Well I wore them to school the next day.. and everyone noticed my new jeans.. and that I was finally instyle. I got alot of comments about them... BUT later in the day.. little Miss Suzie Jo..went and told everyone they were hers and she didn't want them and I bought them from her yard sale.. and I had 5 dollars and counted the rest in change.. which was true.. but LORD it broke my heart. So, I think my girls found my weakness... they are way better dressed then me.. and I know in a perfect world clothes aren't important... but when you are young it's not the clothes really but how you are accepted.. it affects your self esteem for the rest of your life...
I know it's not the clothes but the heart I just wish everyone else did.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Well this pair is $175 and I could careless if anyone thinks I'm insane or "rich" to buy them. My sis is giving me some birthday money to put towards them.
Anyhow, thanks for all that let me know how the jeans really are, because that's all this post was about really, not the price.
coasterqueen replied: It was Guess jeans in my time too. I never owned any though. I remember one girl got so desperate to be a part of the "in crowd" she somehow had a Guess label and she would sew it on to her regular name brand jeans. She felt like a heel when everyone found out.
I bet it did break your heart Mel that that girl said that. I remember when I bought a really pretty sweater after I saved up a lot of my work money in highschool to have only picked out the same sweater as another "in crowd" girl in school. It wasn't that expensive of a sweater, but she made sure (as we both happened to have worn it the same day) that I was ridiculed for it. That was probably the day I really realized how mean girls can be when it comes to having to have all the stylish things and how petty it was to me. I liked my torn jeans, ratty flannels, black leather jacket and my "rebel" label that was given to me.
I think that was also the very same time I decided I wanted to do everything in my power to show my girls it doesn't mean everything and when those girls finally grow up and go on in life, they'll realize out in the workplace it isn't what you wear, it's what's in your mind. Well, I guess it can be what you wear if you want to turn a few male heads.
There were actually a few girls in highschool who I admired for not caring about these things and I saw them at our highschool reunion a few years ago and they still don't.
I know this will be something that will probably beat me to a pulp dealing with my girls and I will let them buy whatever they want no matter how expensive it is when they get jobs and can afford it.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: No offense, but I thought my post was simply about a pair of pants. Either you like them or you don't. You all are welcome to talk about what you want, but with all do respect, I didn't know we were discussing how to raise our kids to not be materialistic. And honestly, without sounding sensitive, I'm just a little curious...I'm starting to feel like someone is trying to tell me I'm setting a poor example if I go ahead and buy these. Maybe I should have never mentioned what brand they were. They're just a pair of jeans that I like and they happen to be expensive. I'm sure there ARE plenty of other things I could buy with this much money. But truthfully, I don't care what you all buy. Can we let the price go? This is why I hate posting anything personal like the size of one's home or anything like that, because I think people have misconceptions and assume someone is something they're not by what they own. JMO.
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well, I didn't realize you would take such offence to this.
My daughter's wear them.. I am to fat but when I lose weight it is my dream to have a pair.. I think that was what I said.
I don't care if you want to buy expensive jeans or jeans from Wal mart..
I don't care how big your house is..or if you live in a trailer.
We are parents.. and that is what we talk about mostly.. we are all different. And I don't think the kind of pants we wear whether expensive or not make us who we are..
I am sorry we got this far out of hand!
Eta: for spelling!
coasterqueen replied: I'm not even going to respond because I think you are taking this too personal. Never did I once mention you weren't raising your child right. You are questioning yourself, I'm not.
Boys r us replied: I think a lot of times posts go astray from the original topic...Actually it happens in just about every post on this board and that's fine! It's normal. I don't think anyone cares if I or anyone else pays $500 for jeans or $5 for jeans. Let's stop the bickering!
Boys r us replied: Rae, I've never worn 7 jeans, those look really cute though!
Gap also has a pair of maternity jeans that are really cool, they have a band that is small but can be worn a bunch of different ways and even made to look like you're wearing a layered shirt. They're really cute!

amynicole21 replied: I could never wear the mat. pants with the band all the way around - I had to wear the dorky front panel variety For some reason, the elastic always stretched out by the end of the day and I spent all day pulling the darn things up over my belly so the weren't drooping down to my knees
Maybe it was just the Motherhood brand though... you get what you pay for - better quality in 7s I'm sure!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: They look really cute!!! Then again, you have the body for them... lol the only jeans that fit me are the ones with the cloth panel up front... and even then... now I'm either in my pjs or sweats or stretchy pants... my jeans havent' fit me for like 2 months!!!!
I'd get them if they fit me well!!!
