Anyone have a Nissan Altima?

Our Lil' Family wrote: As you might have read I'm in the market for a "new" car. I'm undecided if I want to get another Grand Cherokee or get a car for better fuel economy. The only car I really like is the Nissan Altima. Does anyone have one and can you tell me some pros and cons?

Thanks!

MommyToAshley replied: I don't have one, but wanted to wish you luck on the new car. How exciting! It's always fun to get a new car. Let us know what you decide!

C&K*s Mommie replied: We do not own one either, but many good wishes on your decision. smile.gif smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: I have a Nissan Sentra. as far as my car goes and this may apply to the altima, it gets AMAZING gas milage. i can do all my rounds in less then a 1/4 tank. It rides smooth and the exceleration is good. I like it biggrin.gif

J-rod replied: altima is a good car....maintenece is a little high...being a foreign brand car. good gas mileage....just need to decide if you need 4WD or not,

luvmykids replied: I test drove one, didn't buy it but really liked it. Don't know about actual ownership but it was a really nice ride and pretty roomy.

holley79 replied: My best friend has one and I just love it. I really want one but I think I'm going to go with an SUV.

Our Lil' Family replied: Thank you all. I will probably go and test drive one sometime this week.

I'll let you all know what I get!

Our Lil' Family replied:
My Grand Cherokee was (is) 4WD and we only used it a couple times. My DH bought it in hopes of taking it off road, but I knew it's purpose was only for a mommy mobile! This time around 4WD won't be necessary!

mom21kid2dogs replied: My brother has one as do good friends of ours. Very nice. Back seat is pretty roomy for a smaller car. One word of caution, though. Take the car seat you plan to use with you to the dealership & see how it installs. This car has fairly contoured seats and can be a little tricky to use with car seats. Happy test driving!!!

Our Lil' Family replied: Thank you all very much. We decided to go with another Grand Cherokee, I love that vehicle so much and it's what I'm used to driving and DH is used to maintaining. Plus the factor that a 2002 Grand Cherokee is cheaper than a 2002 Altima....because it's a foreign car...go figure!

We have a friend at an auto auction as I type this looking for what I want. Cross fingers and toes for us!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: wavey.gif Hi Naomi! biggrin.gif

I hope you get the car you want for a really good price. The Altimas are great cars, but I'm a SUV gal myself. wink.gif I LOVE the new Cherokees. The 2002's are nice, too. They ride really decent for an SUV. thumb.gif

Our Lil' Family replied:
Hey Aimee!
I test drove a 2002 LOADED GC the other night, LOVED it, but it had been wrecked and DH wasn't comfortable with that. Then he asked me to just sit in an Altima to see if I liked it.....it's a really nice car, but so hard to go from an SUV to a car. I'm short so I like to ride high, and I sometimes think the GC's are too low. So needless to say I told DH nope, I'm going back to a Jeep GC! Not sure what year yet but that's what I want....LOADED hopefully! wink.gif

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: I don't have one either. But I just bought a 2006 Hyundai Tuscon 2 weeks ago, and I definately recommend this car. It's great. wavey.gif
