Anyone have the jumperoo?

coasterqueen wrote: Megan loves her exersaucer (up to the point she gets too overstimulated tongue.gif ) but DH and I were thinking of getting her the jumperoo. Does anyone have one? Does your little one like it? Is it really different from an exersaucer?

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We never bought the jumperoo because I had read something when I was PG about it being bad for baby's knees...BUT now that I'm a parent, I think otherwise. Screw what the books say...They love it...so I say get one. We never bought it for Wil, but our friends have one and Wil has used their's before. He loved bouncing around!!

As far as the difference (since we have an exersaucer)...not much except more flexible I guess. Maybe you can find one at a used baby shop or garage sale. Or Ebay!

coasterqueen replied:
THanks for your thoughts on this. I did find one at a consignment shop for about $42 (EDIT I had originally put $2). I think they are about $60 new. Just debating on what I'm going to do. I thought about getting it for her for CHristmas but I'm afraid that might be a bit too late.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I would grab the $2 one before someone else does! They do grow out of them fast though. We bought the Fisher Price swing and Wil used it maybe four or five times when he was really small. He does still use his exersaucer though, but I recently bought an additional exersaucer that's in the shape of a jeep and it's actually more bouncy like the jumparoo...I bought it at a garage sale...and he loves that the most! Maybe a boy thing since it's a little jeep...but it has fake hydraulics on it that sorta spring up and down. Wish I knew who makes it. The seat is larger than the exersaucer so they have more room to grown in it.

coasterqueen replied:
OOps, I meant $42. biggrin.gif If it was $2 I would have taken it right then and there. Sorry about that. blush.gif

BTW, I know which exersaucer you are talking about. We got that for my nephew for Christmas last year.

Sunflower04 replied: Joey LOVED his Jumperoo. It was his favorite toy until he started walking. I say go for it. thumb.gif

trickiechickie replied: My 5 mos old LOVES his jumperoo too!! He bounces up & down & laughs & laughs!! It's so cute, and seems to keep him entertained for at least 40 mins so I can get some stuff done too!! biggrin.gif

ammommy replied: Is that the one that hangs in the doorway?

akbutterfly83 replied:
No, it's stationary, you can move it around the house, but it sits on the floor.....

ammommy replied: Ok, then I won't type out the long answer I had in mind wink.gif

akbutterfly83 replied: Mason has one... he loves it... better then his walker... he will sit for a few hours in there and stay intertaind(sp?)..... I just set it infrount of the tv, and put the toon's on when I need to get stuff done.....

This is what it looks like. tongue.gif

We had one, and the girls LOVED it! But then we were told by their doctor they couldn't use it. They did seem to like it better than the exersaucer. happy.gif

kellibellisdillybear replied: Buy it! My son has wanted to be standing since 4 weeks old, and loved to be jumping about a week later, it gets a little tiring on our arms, so as soon as his head got above the seat, I bought the Jumperoo, and he loves it! He's only four months right now, but has always had really good neck and head muscles, so I didn't worry about the whole 6 months age limit. He's only at level one out of four, so I think he should be able to use it for quite a while!

kellibellisdillybear replied: P.S. My doctor said there is nothing wrong with my son using this, and early use does not cause bowleggedness(I'm sure a few of you have also heard the wivestale). The only neg. I've heard on reviews was a mommy that said when her daughter started trying to walk, she wanted to jump instead!

Mom2Boyz replied: We got one for Conner when he was smaller, and he LOVED it!!!! I'm sure we'll get good use out of it with Caden as well. thumb.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: We have this (KAthleen got it for xmas last year..) and she LOVES it. She is 10 months old now and still uses it (not as much as when she was smaller but still almost daily. Best purchase we made for her IMO. It lets me cook dinner without her underfoot. It's weighted for a wide range and has several height settings also. I would definately reccomend. IShe's been using it since she was 3 months old (she could hold weight on her legs at that point and was just tall enough on the lowest setting. ) She is trying to walk now and also trys ot jump in place (Which is very cute to see) and dances like crazy in it (The music is cute too) So yes.. get it . I'd suggest sooner rather than later (she has an excersaucer at my moms and doesn't like it near as much as the jumperoo!)

Josie83 replied: Not the foggiest what either of them are!! rolling_smile.gif xx

Emeraldsmom replied: We bought one for Emerald when she was five months and she is 10 months now and still goes in it. She like it but gets bored w/it fast.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: My sister has one for my nephew and he LOVED it. (he's too big for it now) We were going to register for one but my sis is going to give me hers for Andrew. happy.gif

Jamison'smama replied: We have it too--doesn't allow us as much time as the exersaucer--less toys I guess but he does like it for a limited amount of time. I wouldn't wait until Christmas---Jack started using it around 4 months.

Here he is--just an excuse to post a picture.

toothytracie replied: We have one that hangs in the doorway and Olivia LOVES it! It was only $20. She is a bouncer anyways and will try to bounce in her exersaucer or when you hold her so that is why we decided to get one.

coasterqueen replied:
Awww what a doll! wub.gif Now I definitely have to convince Dh to get one now instead of later. wub.gif He really wants to wait so that the jumperoo is Megan's *big* Christmas present from Santa (since she has a ton of Kylie's toys) but oh well.

Jamison'smama replied: You know once they start crawling--the time spent in those types of things is very limited---those fits start coming much sooner.

3_call_me_mama replied:
That is SOOO true. While Kat still oves hers, the time spent is usually only durign dinner prep.. and when she strats jumping liek crazy, it means she;s had enough and wants OUT!! Very cute little boy you've got there Brenda BTW!

Jamison'smama replied:
It's funny, Jack does the same thing--when he starts jumping like crazy there is sure to be whining within a minute---when I go to pick him up I think he'll jump right out of there.
