What does eveyone think about the Dad hitting Gerolda Rivera during an interview?

Darn I spelled the name wrong. Can a mod fix it for me please.
momofone replied: Is this the girl that is missing?
lisar replied: Yes it is.
It is such a sad story and I feel so bad for her Dad. I really dont think he had anything to do with it. The 17 year old girlfriend though I am not so sure about.
Crystalina replied: I watched the video and I don't remember the dad hitting Geraldo. I know the dad's dad puffed his chest out at him and walked towards the camera man but there was no physical contact between anyone. There was a bunch of "I'm calling the law!" "These are all false allegations!!" "Where are you getting your information?" and "Yes, I hit my daughter but only on the butt where DCS says it's okay to."
IMO, I really don't think the father has anything to do with it. He has lied a lot though about his drug use and having enemies. To me they are all shady characters and I'm not sure who I believe or who may or may not have taken her. The father lying about things though doesn't look good on him.
Not to take away from the missing little girl but why isn't anyone thinking there's a problem with this man living with a 17 yr old child?
lisar replied: I know, I already thought of that.
However here in Florida 17 is legal age to do that unless your parents dont approve. They are the ones who would have to split it up, they would have to call the law and press charges. The law wont do it on there own.
momofone replied: Her little 4 yr old brother saw a man in black take her - also there have been leads in TN and that is where the cousin fled to according to the news. the cousin was in town when in happened.
lisar replied: There have also been rumors (not sure how true) that the 17 year old girlfriend was not actually home when it happened.
Crystalina replied: I know. She totally denies this but there are witnesses who saw her outside of the home when this happened.
Who knows anymore? I just hope they find her and she's still alive.
Cece00 replied: Apparently the cousin was cleared.
I dont think the dad had anything to do with it. Probably not the GF either although I am not sure I believe she was home.
I think this is probably a sex offender abduction that is not going to end well. So very sad.
Calimama replied: Soooo sad. I can't even begin to imagine.
mckayleesmom replied: I have been following the case. I check for updates everyday hoping they find that baby alive.
As for the dad punching Geraldo...I don't blame him. I can't stand Geraldo and his pushy ways. It isn't the first time someone has punched him either..
punkeemunkee'smom replied: It is so sad and scary! I always want to believe that the parents are innocent but that makes it even harder to think of because that means there is one more person this evil out there......
As for the girlfirend being 17... How old is the dad?
stella6979 replied: I believe he's 24.
luvmykids replied: I'm really bothered by one little thing....the original story said they discovered her missing when the dad came home and saw the back door open and called 911, later the g/f says she got up to pee and noticed her missing...I can't say for sure they don't know anything about it.
stella6979 replied: Ya, something stinks about this whole thing. I first read that the GF got up to use the bathroom, and when she came back, Haleigh was gone. Then I read that Haleigh got up to use the bathroom and when she didn't come back the GF went to look for her. And why did the GF wait til the Dad got home before calling 911? Something's just not right.
lisar replied: I have always heard from the start:
The girlfriend got up to pee, and saw the light in the kitchen on and noticed the back door open, so she went to check on the kids and noticed she was gone and called 911 and then thats about the time the dad come home was while she was on the phone with 911.
luvmykids replied: The very first story I read said the dad came home and saw the door open and called 911, everything since then has something about the g/f....just seems fishy to me.
Regardless, these days it seems like you can't discount anyone including parents, which is what makes me so sick
Danalana replied: So so sad. I haven't been following the case, but I will check out nancy Grace and see what they're saying on there. All too often, it's the people close to the child who are guilty
