MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: Lotion for eczema? Logan has a flare up and I don't want to use the prescription cream unless I have to. Also, I don't much like aquaphor now that he's all over the place. Last time he left a grease mark on the sofa. LOL.
1lilpeanut2love replied: I sometimes use Gentle Naturals: Baby Eczema Cream and sometimes Cortizone 10.
HTH!
Maddy'sMommy replied: I use Aveno for my dd. Aveno has a lotion that is extra moisture or something, I like it becuse it is thick and not greasy. She had ezema pretty bad and I hated to use to the preciption stuff too
Gentle Naturals: Baby Eczema Cream I found this cream to be too greasy.... but that is JMO. Hope that helps.
cameragirl21 replied: Skip the creams and give him a few drops of evening primrose oil in his bottle or whatever he drinks. you'll never see skin rashes again. Take care, Jennifer
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Okay, I am going to try both the gentle naturals and the evening primrose oil. I had to do a bit of reading on it. I am generally hesitant in regards to herbals and homeopathics, just because I don't want to ever give Logan anything that could interfere with his heart condition. But after reading, I don't think primrose oil could interact in any way. Thanks, Jennifer. I already have some cortizone cream, but that is a steroid and I want to avoid using it as well as the prescription.
cameragirl21 replied: Evening Primrose Oil is perfectly safe, they give it to infants, that's how I know about it, a friend with a very sickly infant gave it to him in his bottle. I have always been prone to skin rashes and so is my cat, lol, so we both take it and it's cured us both. It also works great on PMS if you have any of that, among other things. Take care, Jennifer
TheOaf66 replied: Tanner has it as well in the winter time...we use Equate the Walmart brand and it works quite well so I recommend that.
mom2my2cuties replied: andy finally got over hers, but she has always had it bad before moving to TN...and since a cross country move is out of the question for most, what we used was aquafor and this Therasomething or other
also, on the primrose, I would call your ped just to be sure, a lot of times those might have contradictions that aren't listed on websites and things because certain conditions are pretty rare and it's hard to test with them.
holley79 replied: I've used the Evening Primrose also and it really doe work on skin irritants and PMS.
You can also use Emu Oil. It's not greasy once it's rubbed in and seems to work wonders on scars and skin irritations. I use the Emu oil now on my surgical scars. I should maybe try it out on my stretch marks.
luvmykids replied: Kylie had huge improvement with the creamy baby oil, it isn't greasy like oil, more lotiony.
ZandersMama replied: I use udder cream the stuff they use on cows udders when they get chapped. It works great! You can get it at Walmart. It's called Udderly Smooth.
Boo&BugsMom replied: It's Equates version of Eucerin if that helps. It comes in a tub of heavy body butter-type cream and it's way cheaper. He gets it put on every night before bed and sometimes in the morning as well. In the summer it's not so bad, but in the winter he needs it in order to prevent his flare ups.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I've used that too. I've always like that stuff.
