Appointment today
Danalana wrote: I had my 14 1/2 week appointment today, and it was good. The heartbeat was 143, no problems with my urine, and no swelling of any kind. The only thing he wasn't pleased with is that my weight is dropping. Weird, my belly is getting bigger, yet I'm losing weight. I have lost about 5 pounds since my first appointment...he told me I need to start gaining some soon, and now I'm stressed about it. I definitely eat, but I get full very quickly. I explained that to him, and he seemed to understand. Nevertheless, I do need to gain some soon. I'm gonna try maybe not drinking when I eat...waiting to drink my beverage AFTER I have eaten the food. I think that's one of the problems. When we go out to eat, I always drink a lot before the food comes, and I'm sure that makes me get full more quickly. I don't think that explains the whole problem. I don't eat between meals because I'm not hungry I'm sure the weight will start piling on soon enough.
BabyOwen427 replied: I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as you are eating healthy and not denying yourself anything you'll be fine. Just keep eating good and make sure you get plenty of water.
When I was preggo I was eating better than I had in my whole life and because of that I was loosing fat so I didnt' gain weight like I should have either.
Mommy2Isabella replied: I always have trouble with weight gain ... pregnancy is no exception, until recently, I think I have gained 20lbs already ...
I wouldn't stress it, you will gain weight, I did with bella and I didn't really have to do much different, I eat my cravings and eat when I am hungry .. < sometimes that is half a dozen eggs, but hey ...
Glad everything went well ... Im still tickled to death for you and richard
HuskerMom replied: I wouldn't worry about losing a little weight. With Keith I had trouble gaining weight. And since I started eating better and cut out pop and coffee I lost some weight too. I agree as long as your eating well and take care of yourself you'll be fine.
lesliesmom replied: I had problems gaining weight early on in my 3rd pregnancy. in fact, I think I lost somewhere between 5-10 pounds. So long as you are eating healthy and not denying yourself anything, I don't see a problem now. I started putting on the weight at about 4-5 months, slowly but it got there.
Mommy2BAK replied: sounds like everything is going well! My doc is finally getting over being mad at me about weight as of today I weighed 10 pounds more than I did before I got pregnant, but I don't really think it's anything we can control, ya know?
A&A'smommy replied: sounds like a great doctors app!!!
PrairieMom replied: I lost weight the 1st trimester too, with both of mine, and I wasn't even having morning sickness. My Doc suggested that I eat oreos and icecream. I don't know what benefits that had for my pregnancy or baby, but It sure was fun.
Calimama replied: I agree. Don't stress over it when you don't need to.
lovemy2 replied: I am a BIG proponent of Ice Cream sundaes when pregnant - they do wonders for weight gain
Danalana replied: Hehe! The problem is that I don't want much of anything. lately, I am on a fried shrimp kick. I am waiting for my unsuspecting husband to come home, so I can tell him I want to go get some, yet again! But yeah...it's not something I can control. I DO eat, trust me. I was sick yesterday morning, but that was the first time in 2 weeks. I just LOVE having to throw up AND cross my legs so that I don't pee on myself. I figure I will be hige before too long. And Tam...10 pounds?! That's crazy. And probably all baby. Gosh, you sure aren't going to have a hard time losing weight.
Swood75 replied: Well,I lost weight when I was pregnant with my son (about 5-10 lbs) and ended up gaining about 28..Then when I was pregnant with my daughter I only gained 7 1/2 lbs total the whole time..I was like you though I would feel like I was starving and would take a few bites and feel stuffed..I wouldn't worry about it as long as you are eating stuff that is good for you (or that you are craving )..
My3LilMonkeys replied: When I was PG with Brooke I lost 10 lb in the first 4 months, then gained for the last 5...I was about 30 lb heavier when I delivered than when I conceived, so it worked out just fine!
