Are all the Canadians happy? - With our new Prime Minister?
moped wrote: I am quite thrilled - hopefully things will change!
C&K*s Mommie replied: Did your other PM resign??
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I can't stand Stephen Harper. His comservative party I don't mind - whether it's liberal or conservative, you get screwed one way or the other... they all take your hard earned money!! I just don't like HIM. He's ooogly.
moped replied: Ahhh that's too bad. I am pretty happy about the outcome! But I am a westerner!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Don't misunderstand... I'm not unhappy that the Conservatives won. You know how you just don't like someone because of a feature? Shallow, yes... but I can't stand to look at him. I wish it was someone else that was representative, from the same party...kwim?
lol
I'm not a very political person... I'm not ashamed to say I voted liberal - I really don't CARE who runs the country... they're all full of it and take my money anyways - but the devil you know is better than the devil you don't... kwim? had the c onservatives been in power, I would have voted conservative... had it been ndp, that's what i would have voted... I don't follow debates, or anything like that... so I don't know what each party stands for - only that they take $ off my pay.
I only vote for the right to complain......
Nathansmom replied: I'm happy with Stepehn Harper too, but I'm in the west as well, so I think this is better for us.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: ok - you both mentionned it being ok since you are in the west... I don't understand? How is it ok because you're in the west as opposed to the east?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I want to add a reminder that i'm only 23 - and so for the last 12 years of liberal... well.. i was 11 the last time comservatives were in power... so liberal is all I really know.
CantWait replied: I voted Conservative, so yup, I'm quite happy I'm tired of the Liberal BS, and hopefully we'll see some change
Nathansmom replied: I think we're happy since Alberta almost always voted Conservative, and now that our PM is Conservative we might have more of a voice.
CantWait replied: Rocky, the west seems to think that Ottawa has it out for them. It's obsolutely rediculous the way Alberta and BC go on about it lmao
Hillbilly Housewife replied:
really? I lived in Ottawa for like 10 + years...and worked for 6 of those in the federal gov't... never heard anthingh about that... ?
oh well - *I* love the west. There's tons of great people there.
Quebec is a Bloc Quebecois *country*...... was there even any reps anywhere else in Canada?
fashionmumofboys replied: I'm not into politics that much.
So hoping Harper will make some good changes to our system that will favour us at least, not just take our $$$.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Did you read this?
http://www.childcareadvocacy.ca/action/ele...arperccplan.pdf
i'm gonna one up that - it's going to RESPs - HA!
moped replied: I don't think the west thinks they have it out for them, it's jsut htat the majority of the population is in the east ya know???
jcc64 replied: So, guys, educate me about Canadian politics. Is liberal up there the same thing as liberal down here? Why do you think people were looking for a change after 13 yrs with one party? What were the big issues in this election season?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well, from what I know - and please correct me people if I'm mistaken... lol - the Conservative party was in power right before the liberals, and got the country in huge deficit.
The liberal party supposedly helped clear some of the deficit - but then there was a sponsership scandal - something about the government officials sponsering companies and organizations that had their "friends" as owners, thus being unfair and biased.... apparently many a dollar went to these "companies"... I didn't REALLY follow it that much.
They only won I think by 6% of the population's vote... so it's not like they kicked a$$ or anything.
