Are you a morning person? Or not?

I'm awful in the morning. I get up but I don't really wake up fully for about an hour, and I'm so pale when I get up. I look awful. DH and Emily are up and full of energy as soon as there eyes open, and neither of them are pale. I think Odessa is going to be like me, she's grumpy when she wakes up.

luvmykids replied: I try soooo hard to be a morning person but usually fail miserably .....my true nature is to leisurely and gradually ease myself into being awake.

I can put on a good "morning person" act though! But only for a few days.

CantWait replied: NOT!!!!! I have a hard time waking up in the morning even when I have had sleep. I press the snooze button so many times, and then when I am up I retire to the couch for half an hour or so before I can get up, and I'm a grouch until I've actually been moving for half an hour and have had a shower. In other words, don't bug me till about 1 in the afternoon

Cece00 replied: Hardly. I wish business hours were from like 11 am-7pm, instead of about 9-5. In the morning I go & sit in the front with the kids but I cant just get up & go. I'm in trouble when DS starts school this fall.

I am not a morning person at all. And since giving up caffiene for awhile, and coming back to it recently I feel the effects of the alertness late at night, moreso than the usual alertness I have for being a night person. I am wired.

Boys r us replied: I'm normally a morning person! I love my mornings! In fact most of the time I'm up and at work by 4 or 5am. But since I've been pregnant and not getting much sleep at night recently, I'm finding it harder and harder to get up in the mornings!!!

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I am great in teh mornings as long as I wake up on my own. Ususally I will wake up 10-15 minutes before my alarm (no mater what time it's set for) and most of the time I will wake before the kids (even if only by a few minutes) If something else wakes me it doesn't matter if it's 5:00 or 10:00 it will take me ages to "wake up"

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm in the or not category too. I have never been a morning person, in fact it was a source of much amusement to my father when I was in highschool. I'm a zombie for a good half-hour when I wake up in the morning. It's usually a good idea to wait about an hour before asking me important questions as well.

DillsMommy replied: Definitely NOT! I love my sleep. I just get mad if I have to get out of bed before 10 am. And don't even think about waking me up out of sleep.. watch out! Not sure how I'm gonna handle it when Dylan starts preschool.

Our Lil' Family replied: Nope, not a morning person! I typically let Thomas wake me up, then put him in bed with me for about 30 minutes. Only then can I get up and function...but don't ask me any questions for about another 30 minutes. DH makes that mistake all too often!

I'm so evil in the mornings... even my kids know better than to come bug me in the morning. They go to DAD's side of the bed... and DH obligingly gets us with them, cuz he knows better than to tell me to get up with them.

Typically I'll wake up around 6:45 or so, when dh brings me the baby to nurse... (I don't hear her when I'm sleeping... ) then I'm half awake half sleeping until about 7:15... and by then, usually both older kids are inm y bed, watching cartoons on the tv, which dh turns on for them while he gets showered, dressed etc... Then when he leaves around 7:30, I usually just lie in bed with the kids for a little bit... and try to wake up... because then they're hungry, thirsty, diaper change, yadda yadda... so I *have* to get up.

But on weekends, I usually can sleep until 8:45 or so... dh thinks it's a heck of a lot easier on everyone if he just lets me sleep...

Brias3 replied: Not a morning person AT ALL. I'm usually quite out of it and a little grumpy until I've been up a good hour or two. A shower never helps "perk" me up either- I'm usually just drowsy until 10 am no matter what.

holley79 replied: Annika and I are not morning people. I'm really pale also in the morning and have to put my face on to add some color. Her and I both look forward to the weekend when we can sleep in and snuggle.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I am a total morning person. On my work weeks, I am up at 5am. And on my off weeks, I wake up with Logan usually around 7am. I admit to not looking my finest, but that is usually due to the fact that I am pale by nature and I often have bedhead.

coasterqueen replied: I would have to say I'm a morning person. I can get up a lot easier and get moving than I can stay up late. I like my sleep at night more than in the morning. Course a lot of that has been since having kids, they kind of made me be that way.

Jackie012007 replied: The only time I see morning is when I'm headed to bed at 5am... DEFINITELY a night owl, especialy thanks to DF working 10 -7 overnights. I much prefer sleeping until 2pm

TheOaf66 replied: I am definitely a night owl, it takes me a good hour after waking up to really be "awake". I am not a lot of fun in the morning and everyone knows that. But the later the night goes, the more energy I seem to have.

Jeffs Wife replied: I am a morning person. I am always the first one up in the house, I love it that way. The longer I'm up before everyone the better. It is so quiet and peaceful in the morning. On ce the kids get up, all hell breaks loose, especially when they are all here, all they do is argue my kids and my stepkids and it drives me crazy.
