Are you still using a high chair?

MommyToAshley wrote: I still use one for Ashley, but she may be getting too big for it. There's plenty of room between her belly and the tray, but she is getting too tall, I think. The top of the high chair comes to her shoulders. I know it's time to switch to a booster seat, it's just so nice to keep her and her mess contained. She doesn't mind sitting in the high chair so I have been trying to stretch it out as long as possible. blush.gif

Is there a weight limit on high chairs? I will have to check the manual.

MomToMany replied: Hmmm, not sure about the weight limit on high chairs. Hannah still fits in hers, but only uses it at supper time.

I KWYM about containing the messes and using the high chair as long as possible wink.gif . It's so much easier to clean up.

mummy2girls replied: What i do is take the tray off and let her sit with the highchair pulled up agaisnt the table. or i put her in her little table and chairs she has in the kitchen. I dont use the tray anymore.smile.gif

ediep replied: we still use the high chair and I hope to use it as long as possible. Jason is so easily distracted and eating is not that important to him.....if I put him at a little table like some of my friends have their kids, Jason wouldn't eat much. I think he would get up and leave the table to go play

aspenblue1 replied: Isabella still uses her chair.

jem0622 replied: Every manufacturer is different, so check on their site if you can or if a booklet came with it then check that out. I stopped using mine a while ago. Gabe sits in a booster and I push him up to the table. He likes to eat with everyone and it's one surface to wipe. Easier on me!

Jamison'smama replied: Jamison uses hers---I can't imagine not using one--she is not one to sit at the table. She uses them any time we go out as well so as long as she can stand it--I hope to use it.

Heather replied: We just moved Alison into the booster seat a few weeks ago. She loves it! I love it! It is great having her "AT" the dinner table now smile.gif

Josie83 replied: Cassie hasn't used a highchair for a while now, but she is nearly two and a half. She has a booster seat and sits with Jason and I at the table. She's really good, she never tries to get up and run around, she always sits really nicely and joins in with us. I like having her sit with us properly, and it makes her feel grown up! xx rolleyes.gif

booey2 replied: Thomas has been out of his for over six months now, almost as soon as he turned 2 he had had enough of it and wanted to sit at the dining room table and he would slide out of the booster so he just kneeled or squated til he reached the table. He is okay now. I am going to keep my highchair til we have grandkids (- a long time from now) because it is one of the few pieces that I know my mom wishes she had when we all get together for big family get togethers. thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I still try and use kaitlins but anymore she is done with in 2-3 bites and then wantes to sit with us either on our lap or she will climb onto a chair and sit and want more to eat, so I am guessing I need to get her a booster seat so she can sit at the table with us.

coasterqueen replied: I think Kylie used her highchair a handful of times, lol, and then she was too small for it. So she's in a booster chair now pulled up to the table. Not sure if I will even get it out for this baby. Thank goodness it was bought for us or it would be on my list of what I waisted my money on, lol.

DansMom replied: Like Jason, Daniel will stay eating much longer if he is in his high chair. However, he insists lately on sitting in a regular chair most of the time---not even the booster seat. He likes to sit with his chin at table level and feel like he's all grown up. I almost took a picture of this yesterday, it was so cute. But at least once a day I get him to agree to the high chair so that he will stay put and eat a good amount.

3_call_me_mama replied: Cameron hasn't used his since his birthday mostly because he unbuckles and climbs out! We have a booster that we have attached to a chair that we use for him. He sits really well in it and behaves much better than he did in the highchair. When we go out to eat he just sits in a booster or regular chair, as long as the meal's good he behaves... makes restaurant choices tough.

kel replied: kira's highchair turns into a table and chair, and just last week i converted it !..she loves being a "big girl" and actually spills less...
