As seen on TV!!!

kit_kats_mom wrote: Someones reply in another thread got me to thinking.

What "As Seen on TV" products have you tried and what has been your experience?

We have the swivel sweeper and I LOVE IT! it works great on quick jobs like cat food, cat litter, pine tree droppings etc.

amynicole21 replied: We tried some of the lawn fertilizer that they showed growing grass on a brick... didn't do squat rolleyes.gif

stella6979 replied: We have that GT Express 101 and I do love it. It's not very big, but it's perfect for me when I want a nice toasted pita wrap.

luvmykids replied: I have the Magic Bullet...it's not quite as fab as they make it look but I do use it alot. I also got my Foreman Grill back in the day from an infomercial and still have it, use it and like it. And the little lights you can stick in a drawer that come on when you open it...they're bright but burn out fast.

Jackie012007 replied:
ditto - I have the magic bullet and it isn't as handy as they say - it can't chop onions or green pepper very well! But we make baby food and smoothies with it!

Crystalina replied: The Ov Glove is the BEST!! That's an older As Seen On T.V.

Calimama replied: As I said in another thread I'm kinda leery of those products, some of them look really cool, but they lose me when they start in with the "free this", plus this, plus this, plus this, makes me wonder if the product is so crappy they have to make up for it with free stuff. emlaugh.gif

Anthony275 replied: when i was around 6 i got better blocks- i remember they were ordered from tv but dude, best things ever; everything on the commercial you could do and it came with a book. and i still have them to this day

amymom replied: Hee Hee hee... The bane of my existence !!

My husband has tried or attempted to purchase almost every "As seen on TV" item.

The magic bullet... we use for smoothies often. Almost everyday, MB will have fruit smoothies.
We have had a juicer, the george foreman grill, knives, cleaners, oxy 10, I could go on and on. Since I took away the credit cards, he no longer purchases them. But 15-20 years ago we were getting packages weekly! Oh I laugh now but you should have seen me then. laugh.gif

grandma replied: lol - I've always wanted the Magic Bullet because it looks like if you have one, it's an instant party at your house...lol

Anthony275 replied: oh yeah forgot about the showtime rotisserie oven- that thing actually works

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have the forman grill a older one and still adore it. I also have the containers that are 3 sizes and all the same lid in a spinny thing (I have no clue the name) i LOVE these also, even got refills for it. ha smart spin

smart spin

I am sure I have a few more things just cant remember......what I have tried.

Kaitlin'smom replied: anyone try the Thigh Master laugh.gif what a joke......

grandma replied:
If your not too overweight the Thigh Master did actually work happy.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
it worked better on my arms than my legs

mckayleesmom replied: Miracle Blades......they really do cut through a pop can....I did it 10 minutes after they arrived....they worked really good for a while, but they wear down fast.

TheOaf66 replied: the "Gator Grip" socket works if the bolt is right out in the open and large but if has a smaller head it doesn't work real well

Cece00 replied: I have a food saver & a george forman grill. I didnt order either off TV but they do have infomercials. They both work GREAT, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my food saver vacuum.

I am leery about ordering things online, though...in fact I never have, I bought those 2 items after I had a bunch of ppl IRL tell me they worked.

grandma replied: Turbo Head wraps - I love them...lol

holley79 replied: I tried tha tegg sheller thingy that was supposed to be so amazing. Well it stunk. It flattened the eggs and just made it full of shell.

kit_kats_mom replied: Oh yeah Di, I love my smart spin. thumb.gif We only have like two more tupperware things in the house sine we got that...which is great since we have so little kitchen storage.

bawoodsmall replied: What about the space bags. I love those things. That smart spin looks cool but can you use them in the oven and stuff?

Kaitlin'smom replied:
smart spin, I use in the microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer and they are fine. I have never put it in the oven dunno if it woudl hold up

grapfruit replied:
Really? I love mine, and they're still really sharp (2 years old now) The scissors I could take or leave.

oh, and I just got the Magic Bullet! thumb.gif I'm excited! So far, all I've done is make some smoothies (yum!) and grind my coffee into expresso (it last longer)

DillsMommy replied: Tom wants that pancake puff maker.

MommyToAshley replied: When we were in Gatlinburg, we stopped in the "As seen on TV" store (ha ha) -- they had tons of stuff but we ended up not buying anything. laugh.gif

I thought about the magic spin, it looks so cool. But after reading that article on reusing plastic, I use glass bowls with lids now. I won't even use plastioc that is marked for safe in the microwave. I'm so paranoid. blush.gif blush.gif

redchief replied:
Must be what they're calling "The Ginsu" today. It was touted as able to cut through cans and then slice a tomato. All true, but for cutting meat a sharp straight carbon or soft stainless blade is better IMO. The Ginsu cuts bread like a champ though.

We also got my FIL's dehydrator which was shown on TV. That works great. We've tried many of the Oxy products and have been mostly disappointed with their performance.
