Ashlynn's Mommy - Insight into men....
C&K*s Mommie wrote: Bill Engvall, (the 'Here's your sign' guy) & also 1/4 of the comedy troup on Blue Collar TV, gave insight into men while on stage for their final comedy tour appropiately called "One for the Road". Chris and I were watching it at my BIL's house a week ago in Tallahassee.
One difference in men and women.... they could care less about the details, like some of us women care about them.
Bill Engvall, who was at the gym with his buddy John one day when John mentioned that he was getting a divorce from his wife. Bill replied with, "oh yeah?- well can you spot me?" Nothing more was brought up about the pending divorce.
Later, when he went home he mentioned it in passing to his wife, who wanted to know all the details of why, who was at fault, what happened, etc.... Bill did not know the answers since he did not ask, nor did he care to know. He also mentioned that it would be rather odd for him to ask him the questions that sometimes we as women may ask if our friend was getting a divorce. KWIM?
I thought that was hilarious since I was sitting there listening, and I (as the viewer) even wanted to know more. Men are not into details, as we are, and the story of your S/O taking Ashlynn to the doc this morning reminded me of that. Chris even concurred with Bill on that, he could have cared less if he were in that same position.
TheOaf66 replied: yes, I agree, men need to know the bare essentials and that is all
Ashlynn's Mommy replied: It is so agravating though. And your right, I do the same thing I'll ask him questions about something that happened, and he will just say "I don't know" and I'll say "well didn't you ask?" and he ays "no, i'm not like you women who gossip all of the time". . Men can be such asses sometimes (no offense to the daddys on the board.)
mammag replied: Oh that is soooooo true. You can see it when you are really getting into the details of a story and they start blanking out on you and say "uh hun" or repeating the last few words you said to make it sound like they are really paying attention.
It gets really frustrating when you want all the juicy details and they never seem to have them....
AlexsPajamaMama replied: That reminds me of when DH used to pick up a guy he worked with on his way in, and he would have stories about Aaron and his son and whatever and I asked "oh how old is Aaron's son?" "Oh I dont know! He just said blah blah blah!"

JP&KJMOM replied: I love Bill Engvall!
redchief replied: Lisa, "I heard such and such happened to whogeewhatsit the other day.
Me, "Yeah, I heard a little while after it happened." (Duhhh)
Lisa, "Why didn't you tell me about it?"
Me, "I didn't think it was important."
Lisa, "I'm always the last to know anything! You should have told me!"
Me, "Yup, I should have." (Like I said, "Duhhh")
My3LilMonkeys replied: How very true!! I love Bill Engvall!
C&K*s Mommie replied: Ed, that is hilarious but aggravating that we are often the last to know minus the good details.
I like Bill Engvall, too. They are all hilarious!
redchief replied: Heheh... that's just it... we don't usually have the details. We don't care about them unless they directly impact us.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Sadly after eight years of knowing Chris, I finally realized that the other day! I just would try and try by pulling teeth with him, to no avail. Now I know... I still want the details though.
luvmykids replied: That is too funny! And true! DH is always amazed at the stuff I know and he says "How did you find that out?" with all this drama in his voice and I say "I asked!"
