Attempted abduction - in my neighborhood!

victoire2002 wrote: I can't believe this. A little 8 yr old girl was walking NEXT DOOR to her aunt's home, and was interrupted by a man in a pickup truck who asked her if she wanted any candy. She screamed and ran the other way.... he backed up, trying to follow her. Then, as he was trying to get out of the truck to come after her, the mother interrupted him and he sped off.

Thankfully, the mother heard something and came outside to see what was happening. This just makes me sick-- it happened only 2 blocks from my house, and I jog by there every day in the morning!

What is up with these sickos? Wish I had a solution... if it were up to me, I would send all of those types off on a boat to NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!!

Just hug your babies tight, and remember not to take your eyes off them for even a second when they're outside. We can't afford any unsupervised moments these days.

~CrazieMama~ replied: ohmy.gif Oh my goodness, that is scary!!!!! Glad the mother cam out in time.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: There are some peversions in this world that just make me too sick to speak. This is one of them. I look at my daughter and I just pray that when she gets older that something like this doesn't happen to her. I agree with your plan to stick them all on a boat to nowhere.

paradisemommy replied: OMG..that is so scary..makes you want to keep them locked inside all day but how sad is that??? dry.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: OMG how scary!! Good thing the mother came out!!! It's a scary world out there and you really have to be careful! Poor little girl, luckily she's ok!

A&A'smommy replied: omg why would he want to take someone elses baby....its so sad!!! Im sooo so glad that her mother heard something and that the little girl is okay!!!! Last summer and girl around my age (of last summer which was 16) was almost raped im not sure how she got away but it scared my mom and my best friends mom and the only way we were alloud to walk to each others house was if we were together we lived maybe a block from each other the girl was attacked inbetween our houses! Its Sooo scary that those things happen and the thing that scares me the most is that those things can happen to anyone! anyways i will stop sounding so doomed...and scary!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG that is just awful! A similar thing happened this summer in my friends neighbourhood! What is happening to the world we live in? sad.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Every time I read something like this I want to glue mckaylee to our home.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I am so freaked out about stuff like that. I won't let Maddie out of my sight...EVER! I guess I have seen too many kidnapping shows in my lifetime, but it is something that has bothered me since I was a child. I bet I check all the windows and doors 3 times a night before we go to bed. Maddie isn't even allowed to play in the backyard alone (even though we have a security fence and it is locked) Are we paranoid or what?! wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Oh my!! That is soooo scarey! I am glad she is ok.

I am the same way... I don't let Ashley out of my site and I always check the windows and doors before going to bed.

CantWait replied: that is really scary. It's sick that these pervs can walk around and roam the streets mad.gif

victoire2002 replied: Yeah, well, I am going to our neighborhood meeting tonight. We are talking about paying off-duty police to patrol our neighborhood. It's going to cost us, but we will have to do this in order for our streets to be safer. I guess paying city taxes is not enough.... it's a shame.

MomofTay&Sam replied: OMG thats so scary!!!

I am a teacher with special ed children(on leave now)
I was watching the news yesterday morning and a 5th grader was almost taken out infront on my school. I was shocked! LI schools are locked down since 9-11, you can not enter the buildings at all. You must ring or have a key. They can protect the inside but the outside is getting ugly. sad.gif The little *person* ran and started yelling. Thank god she got away...

Jamison'smama replied: Thank you for posting that--it is a good reminder that this happens in all of our neighborhoods and that we need to always be watching out for our children as well as those who are not being watched by their mommys or daddies!
