amymom replied: nothing yet. pitocin at 8pm last night and very few contractions. (I always want to second guess the doctors.)

amymom replied: I talked to my brother a few hours ago and there is no change yet. Only one cm dilated and no real contractions to speak of. She is stuck in the bed, due to IV's & other stuff (TMI) so walking is not an option.... that could get her started ohwell.

So SIL is pretty much just hanging out, docs have said preeclamsia, that is why they induced. They never confirmed a EDD, so she is around 35 to 38 weeks, I am praying it is 38 weeks. My brother seems calm, especially since he HATES hospitals (has panic attacks when he goes in usually) They are 400 miles from me, he is my youngest brother (I am the 2nd oldest of 6), and our parents are gone, so he keeps calling me and I relay info to the other siblings. I really thought we would have more news by now. Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers.

amymom replied: She's not progressing so they are going to sleep for the night and try again in the morning . Boy I wish I was closer so I could run over and shake some sense into those doctors!!!

I fortunatly was not induced with either of my kids, But it seems like somehting should be happening by 24 hours post starting the pitocin. I guess I will have an update in the morning.

I had good experiences with pitocin labor was 3 hours the first dd, and 90 min the 2nd dd.

amymom replied: no baby yet. They are trying the pitocin again then will do a c-section if nothing happens. My SIL blood pressure has been high at times so they have preeclampsia concerns, that is why they are inducing. They said with the sonagram the baby should be 7 1/2 lbs. So good size baby. I'll update later today. Thanks for all the well wishes.

amymom replied: So Finally!! It is a girl 6:58 this morning. I have no other details other than mother and baby are doing fine. I will begin a new thread when I know. Thanks for all the prayers!

Poor mommy labour sucks enough as it is... i can't believe she had to go through all that!! I'm glad they are doing well though!!
