Baby Names
MommyToAshley wrote: Did you have any other names picked out for your baby? Or, if you are PG now, what names are you considering?
Ashley was almost Paige.
CantWait replied: These are the names I had picked out, Hubby didn't like any of them, therefore we settled agreeably to Anthony Christian ( I wanted Christian Anthony LOL)

KatieLeigh79 replied: Well in high school I swore if I ever had a son I would name him Alexander William, my cousin heard that and had her boy last year and well low and behold I've learned you never tell someone these things. (His Name Is Alexander)
At first I wanted Skyler Paige for a girl and Ayden Tyler for a boy - DH said Skyler is to much of a guys name, and Ayden is the name he uses in all the online games, and that would just seem "wierd" to him.
Right now its looking like John Robert if its a boy (his dads first name, and my dads first name together) which we can shorten to JR as he is growing up and its a toss up between Skye Jordayn and Lauren Faith if its a girl - I still don't want to let skyler go for a girls name *laugh* so that would be a compromise and I seen the name Lauren a while back in something and though its a more "traditional" name I thought it was cute sounding.
supermom replied: Well, funny you should ask. I've been "lobbying" for Emily Grace but that would make her initials (if it IS a her) E.G.G. - and I am not too sure we want to do that to her. But.....last night my hubby (after planting trees Sunday and trying to get our Wireless ISP antenna raised back up last night - don't ask) crawled into bed next to me and told me that he was stiff and sore. I told him I was sore too but mine would last about another 4 months until we had this baby -giggle-. He then patted my prego tummy and informed me that "Emily" would be worth it. So, I guess for a girl it is definately Emily (but maybe Emily Rose and not Emily Grace - giggle). As for a boy, well, it's really hard to say yet.....we had a tough time deciding on Anders so we'll just have to wait and see.
MommyToAshley replied: ROFL... Ask Ashade75 what her initials are. Hmm, she might not tell...so I will. Her name is Angela Suzanne Shade...you figure it out! She used to go by Angel, so I would tease her and tell her that she is the only person I know that lived up to her initials but not her name. HAHAHAHAHAH
ashade75 replied: Yea, Thanks dad
They always told me I always lived up to my initials not my name. "Angel vs A$$"
Boy this parenting club is bringing back bad childhood memories
lol
jdkjd replied: Once again....I'm so glad that Mommy/TLC and Sis are all on the board to rag on each other. Very entertaining for us...(donuts/bad driving/bubbybooboo/a$$-it just keeps getting better!)
supermom replied: I second that !! Makes my otherwise boring morning very very entertaining!
Hillbilly Housewife replied:
You guys are hilarious!!!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I agree it does make ofr some intertainment!
SInce we knew it was a girl we had a few names picked out.....a long tima ago my DH wanted Stormy Nicole for a girl, so we had that. I liked Nikita, Erica and Stephanie. Then while watching a move I heard the name Kaitlin (spelled Caitlin). My DH did not like it at first, but then one day he told me he liked it (he hopes that maybe someday she will want ot go by Kat). So it took a while to decied we had the middle name (Nicole) picked out before the first name! It was beween Erica & Kaitlin. Well you can guess what we picked! So Mommy got to pick her first name, and daddy picked her middle name.
dolfinrse replied: Our son's name is going to be Zachary Taylor.
jdkjd replied: Very presidential! I like it!
dolfinrse replied: Thank you. We couldn't think of a middle name that went well with Zachary.
MommyToAshley replied: I like Zachary Taylor too And, Anthony Christina
I also like Emily Grace and Skyler Paige
I have such a hard time with choosing names.
MommyToAshley replied: Glad you went with Kaitlin -- I like that name. Too bad you didn't name her Mary-Kate and then our girls could have been Mary-Kate and Ashley -- aren't those the twin's names?
Kaitlin'smom replied:
thats good. Mary-Kate never crossed my mind. Well I guess if you have another girl you can name her that!
oh yes thoes are the twins names.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: When I was preggers, I wanted the name D'Arcy for a boy, and Gabrielle for a girl.
Then it was D'Arcy or Grace. Then it was Nicholas and Catherine. Then it was Zacharie and Catherine. Next, was Zacharie and Emilie.
So now, we have a Zacharie, and we're working on having an Emilie or a Celeste!!!!
Of course, when we finally do get pg again, the name is probably going to change again!!
ashade75 replied: If Mommy and TLC keep working on those taxes...
they can name their own baby Mary Kate! (hehe)
And that is how rumors start..........
5littleladies replied: We knew Bee was going to be a girl so she was Brianna from the start but we have had the name Benjamin picked out for a boy since my first pregnancy and now after 3 girls I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get to use it.
MommyToAshley replied: I am glad our life is entertaining to someone... LOL. Do you think we could get away with charging admission?? Not that entertaining, eh? (I threw in the "eh?" for the Canadians on the board!)
CantWait replied: Thanx EH!!!!!!!!!
Schnoogly replied: I think boy names are harder--we had about six girl names picked out but no boy names and had a hard time when we found out he was a boy. We didn't decide on his name until after he was born--I also liked Rowan but DH thought it was too girly. My fave girls name (I hope the next one in 3+ years will be a girl!) will be Ivy Fay. Or Julian Fay (Fay is my grandmother's name) since it might be too cute to have two I names in the family. (or three if you count our cat Ingrid)
Steph
MommyToAshley replied: I like all those.
Fay (or Faye) is my MIL's name.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: My nick name is Vé (pronouced Vay) - easier to say, especially when I introduce myslef to an English speaking only person - sometimes they have a had time pronoucing my full name, so Vé is just easier on everyone.
supermom replied: I think you are right, Steph - we had a girls name with the last one (who ended up being a boy) right away, but had a really tough time coming up with a boy's name.
And I know this time is going to be even harder.
MommyToAshley replied: We were the opposite. We had lots of boys names picked out and AGREED upon but we couldn't agree on a girl's name.
CantWait replied: same here Dee Dee, couldn't think of many girls names
ashade75 replied: Dee Dee actually named "Ashley" the name I wanted to name Brittnay. I had Ashley Marie picked out, however my mother who can be very influencial, especially when I still lived at home at the time and picked out Brittany Nicole (hehe) . --- Good choice of names DeeDee
After I had the baby, 2 of my friends who were also pregnant at the time had their babies and named them Brittany as well. None of us ever really discussed what we were going to name our babies. So after we had the babies and all a couple of days apart from each other and found out we all named them the same thing , we just laughed.
Togetherness at its finest.
ashade75 replied: You know I really like the name MARY-KATE
What do you think about that name MommytoAshley?
(~Rumor has it~~)
MommyToAshley replied: hehe, that's funny. I never knew that. Ashley is the first name that I liked for a girl. We discussed several others, but we ended up going with Ashley. You have good taste too!
I liked the name Richelle... pronounced like Michelle but with an "R" but DH didn't like it! Oh, and I liked Jordan too! We both liked Paige but there was a chance there might have been a Paige joining the family so we didn't go with it.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I like the name paige its cute!
TLCDad replied: I like Melanie for a girls name, But DW (Dear Wife) did not like it. But we both liked Ashley. We were actually going to use the Ashleigh as the spelling but figured we should just do the common way so people will not misspell it.
ashade75 replied: So have you guys considered "Mary-Kate"
maestra replied: Jaquelyn Gabrielle was almost Katherine, because my dh wanted to call her Katie. We had Joshua Gabriel in case she was a boy. We're still saving Joshua- my dh wants 5 more! I told him he better get a better job so I can quit teaching!
There was a little girl in my class last year- her parents only spoke Spanish and saw the name Zachary and picked it out. They didn't know it was a boy's name. They pronounce it (Za cha ri) emphasis on the cha part. Spanish A is always short- like the a in the word-ah. I thought it was kind of pretty!
MommyToAshley replied: hmm..Zachary is pretty pronounced that way.
Joshua is our little angel in heaven so I am partial to that name too!
