Baby Shower cancelled....

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: My baby shower has been cancelled. It was going to be Saturday. I feel so bad b/c I kept saying all along that I didn't want one b/c I really don't need one. My best friend's baby is sick (Carsyn) so her mom is flying out to help out with her. sad.gif She has RSV and will go through breathing treatments. Keep her in your prayers. She is not a preemie so it isn't as severe, but they are so tired and worried. They are first time parents. We just don't know how she got it. She is never around any other children. They are so careful with her. sad.gif

Thanks! thumb.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: That is what we are planning on. We thought it would be fun to have him at the shower. We just don't know at this point when my friend will be able to make it back in. How old should he be before we have the shower?

mckayleesmom replied: I would say a month....I wouldn't take Mckaylee on a plane to see my family till she was 2 months.

amynicole21 replied: Oh no! I hope their baby gets better soon!!

I'm so sorry you won't be having a shower... it must be such a disappointment! grouphug.gif I agree that at least a month is a good bet for having a welcome baby party. I might even wait until 6 weeks.

I would wait at least a month before having the shower.

Kaitlin'smom replied: aww poor thing Kaitlin had RSV when she was about 2 1/2 months old I was worried until I had it explained ot me, and no Kailtin was not a premie either. Its basicly a bad cold for a baby, they cant give them anything for it, just had to run its course. I had to give her breathing treatments and clean out her nose alot (which she hated). They did not want to put her in the hospital caus ethen she would most likly get worse with something else. She was not around other kids then either, she (Kaitlin) most likly got it from someone who had a cold. It scared me at first but she was fine in a couple days. I will keep your friends little one in my thoughts.....I am sure she will be fine.

MomToMany replied: ohmy.gif I hope the baby does get better soon! How scary that must be!

sad.gif Sorry your baby shower got cancelled. But having a party after he's born will make it that much better. I would wait 6 to 8 weeks after having Ethan to have a party.

coasterqueen replied: So sorry the shower was cancelled sad.gif I hope your friend's baby feels better soon grouphug.gif

DansMom replied: Poor Carsyn---I hope she will be better soon. grouphug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, I hope Carysn (what a pretty name!) is feeling better soon!

I am sorry to hear about your shower, what a disappointment that must be. But, I think having a welcoming party/shower after Ethan is born is a great idea. It's always fun to celebrate a new baby, but I always loved to go to showers AFTER the baby was born ... it's so much more fun when the baby is there. wub.gif wub.gif

HUGS all the way around!
