Baby food
MyLuvBugs wrote: If you make your own.....do you add water to it to get it really smooth?? I have a magic bullet that I want to try out, but not sure how to get is baby worthy. KWIM?
Calimama replied: I buy it, but I have a couple friends who make it with the Magic Bullet, so it must be baby friendly!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: With Emily we bought everything! Then we had Spencer and money was tight so I made my own and made my own with Claudia as well.
lesliesmom replied: I buy from the store. I should make it as she has a reaction to certain foods (mainly yellow vegetables) and its getting harder to find "dinner-type" foods without those.
3xsthefun replied: We bought ours for both of our girls and probably will again.
Momof3inMe replied: I just made squash last week. I steamed it and put it in the blender then froze it. I used water to thin it out when I fed it to her. I have read on different sites you can use chicken broth or beef broth also to thin it out.
HuskerMom replied: I buy it just cuz it's easier. I probably would make it if I had a magic bullet
redplaydoh replied: I made the food for the boys and thinned it with water to get the consistency they needed. I bought a few ice trays and made big batches and froze them. I'd pop out a cube or two and warm them for their food. They liked it much better than the jar stuff, which we also bought for times we'd be out of the house.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I buy everything, but I have a little hand held baby food mixer thing that's kind of like a really cheap version of a magic bullet that I used sometimes so that Andrew could just eat what we were having for dinner. I'm sure a magic bullet would work great for making baby food.
MotherForever2043 replied: I always buy it, but if I'm running low on baby food I make it myself.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I used to make a lot of my own for Wil, but Wesley is still primarily on BM only. He takes a bite or two of cereal and apple sauce, but when I say a couple bites, I mean literally a drop or two...Most goes on his bib! We have a Cuisinart, so I use that to puree.
Old Mom Hubbard replied: I voted for making my own...even though it has been over 16 years! I liked knowing EXACTLY what was going into my baby's mouth and so made all of my own baby food. Found it much more cost effective-which freed up money for all of those baby booties that would mysteriously disappear and clothing that they ALWAYS grow out of!
luvmykids replied: Both, I bought for a while then when I realized how easy it was I started making it. I didn't have my magic bullet back then but sure wish I had!
Cece00 replied: I do both.
EvesMom replied: I did both. When we were out and about jarred food was a lot more convienent. I used water to thin most foods, and apple juice for fruits and some veggies (sweet potatoes).
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I've been making it. The water I use to thin it is the water I cook stuff in...and I've been using the Imersion(sp) blender thing to puree...I never got good results with my regular blender.
