Baby sleep sacks

Danalana wrote: Richard and I are considering ordering a couple of them, and I was wondering if any of you have used them or are thinking about it? Here's a pic if you don't know what they are. I don't particularly like the way this one looks, but it's a good picture. I really like the Halo brand. Anyway, here it is...

A&A'smommy replied: I would get one it made me feel better than putting a blanket on lissa. You can get some REALLY cute ones.. alyssa had one that was hot pink tongue.gif

Danalana replied: Hehe, i actually dreamed that I was looking at a hot pink one...and it was for twins ohmy.gif I don't think they even make them that way. I'm only having one, but I have dreamed I was having twins for years baby.gif baby.gif

PrairieMom replied: I never used those, but I would recommend the swaddling blankets that Velcro. We bought 2 and used them every day. i wish I would have bought a few more.

boyohboyohboy replied: jake didnt like his because he was always on the hot side...
i do want to get some of the velcro swaddlers though. i am not good at swaddling the newborns..and i think that helps

Danalana replied: Yeah, we're getting a couple of those too smile.gif

PrairieMom replied:
you know, I found this very helpful too, if it wasn't for this I would have L-O-S-T my ever lovin mind with both my babies.

Mommy2Isabella replied: Bella is very HOT natured, we keep the house around 75 and she REFUSES a blanket, when she was newborn we swaddled her and the house we kept a little bit cooler!!

Danalana replied: Yeah, it says to keep the baby's room consistently cool smile.gif
Tara, thank you for the link biggrin.gif

Cece00 replied: Personally I never used them with any of my 4 kids...I didnt see a reason to waste the $$. JMO.

Jackie012007 replied: Carly had them, she LOVED them. We had the Wear-A-Blanket ones, they are super soft and cute! We also had the swaddlers, they come in handy with a fussy baby, I highly reccommend both!

Danalana replied: biggrin.gif I'm excited about trying it.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I only ever used the ones with full arms myself, and they were great!

Calimama replied: We used something similar. Ours were basically PJ's with a sack at the bottom rather than separate leg areas. Bella loved them!

MoonMama replied: We had some and I really liked them, I also LOVED the swaddle wraps that wrap around and velcro shut.

gr33n3y3z replied: my kids hated anything that constricted them

Danalana replied: See, i HATE feeling constricted...I'm afraid I would panic all the time, wondering if that's how baby felt. *sigh* I guess all I can do it see what works.

gr33n3y3z replied: they say babies like it but what do ppl. know
just bc they have no room inside of you when you carry them doesnt mean they like it LOL you will just have to see what your baby likes when he/she comes smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I used something similar for Kait when was a baby, she was born in the winter so I always worried she would be cold, I would swaddler her and thn put her in one on the really cold nights, she is like mommy no matter how it is outside she loves to snuggle under blankets.

my2monkeyboys replied: I used the Halo ones for Will. I never had to worry about him getting out of his blankets and getting cold or possibly getting it over his face. They were also very cute!!!
I used them on Will up until he was about a year and half. He really liked them.
I've kept in case we ever have another one, too. I just think they are so worth it.

Danalana replied: ^^Thank you...very reassuring smile.gif

Tena replied: First, congrats on your preganacy!! (new here so I'm a little late on these posts). But as far as the sleep sacks, for me they were an amazing invention! They just completely eliminated a whole line of worry. I bought a bunch for every season before my daughter was born last Sept. A brand like Halo is good because they meet all the standards and requirments. I find it's better to buy them slightly larger than you think you'll need b/c they do shrink in the wash, and you want your baby to have plenty of kicking and growing room. I used the fleece in the winter & the thinner clotton ones for the in-between nights. As I think someone may have already mentioned, they even have the swaddling ones for newborns. Plus they zip from the bottom up, so diaper changes aren't a challenge.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I used the Halo sleepsacks with both kids and LOVED them! They are super soft and so easy to zip up and down during late night diaper changes. Believe me, those first couple months, you will be changing so many diapers in the middle of the night, you want to have quick access. And this way you don't have to un-button and re-button a bunch of snaps. Also, with all the SIDS scare, it was nice to know the baby is warm without using a blanket. Swaddling is really great, but not all babies like it. So this was a good way to keep them bundled and warm (I live in Colorado where it gets super cold).

Danalana replied: I would love to live somewhere that gets cold! I live in Alabama, where it's pretty much 1,000 (yes, I meant 1,000) degrees all the time. Oh, we do have a couple of days of spring, and a few days of fall and winter...but winter is a joke. It makes me sad. i told Richard I want to move to Cape Cod or somewhere. I want to live in the Northeast sooooo bad!
Oh, and I bought a lullabag yesterday at a specialty shop. it's a cotton sleep sack, and it's really cute smile.gif Mint green...love that color!

Tena replied:
That's good - the mint green sounds cute! As a native of the northeast, I can tell you that the really cold weather can be a drag to say the least. Give me the Fall or Spring any day! laugh.gif I have tons of family in Alabama though... right outside of Birmingham.

moped replied: Used them for a year - great!!!!!!

lovemy2 replied: Never used either - well I should say used them but both kids hated to be swaddled and I know I know but both my kids were tummy sleepers blush.gif so I never used the sleep sacks either but they always looked so comfy....

Danalana replied:
That's cool smile.gif
The reason i love winter is because it's not really winter here. Sure, it gets chilly sometimes, but we pretty much never even get snow (makes me sad!). I know snow would get old if it was always on the ground. I just would love to live somewhere that has all the seasons.
