Back from er with Jenna

mummy2girls wrote: Well its either one of 2 things.... she may have reflux. They gave me a prescription to use for 2 weeks and if that doesn't help it in any way then it is asthma. I have to go see her pediatrician when the 2 weeks is up and go from there. Its sometimes hard to diagnose at such a young between the 2 because the two have almost the exact symptoms. Reflu causes cronic coughing and spiting up and such and some kids are prone to get pneumonia if they have reflux. Anybody here have any experience in this?

If its asthma then she has to be on different meds and go for tests and such. So we will see. so far she is doing good. Coughing just a bit. we will see how she is through the night.

Jenna screamed through the whole checkup and such. She was so mad at the doctor. Everytime the doc would look at her she cried and yelled...

alice&arik replied: aaah...poor girl, i hope she feels better. i don't have any experience with any of that. hope it all works out though. grouphug.gif grouphug.gif

amynicole21 replied: Sorry you had a rough time at the doctor's office. I hope that the meds clear up the problem. Doesn't reflux usually go away as the child gets older?

mummy2girls replied: Yes the reflux goes away as they get older. But some kids that have reflux can get recurrent pneumonia . and she may also have both. And i didnt know that her dads sister has asthma also....

we will see
