Bad Mommy

CantWait wrote: Today I put Anthony in his bouncey seat and then put him on the counter like I always do so that he's can see me face to face when I do dishes or cook dinner.

Tonight was different though, I guess he's just so strong now cause I think he rocked himself down. All I knew was 1 sec he was up there, the next he was crying on the floor. That's all it took was 1 sec. I feel so horrible. He cried for like half an hour. All he wanted to do was nurse, which I let him, but he kept falling asleep, which I didn't want him to do cause I don't know for sure if he hit his head. He seems to be fine now, but I've learned my lesson, he's on the floor now even if he doesn't like it. bawling.gif

aspenblue1 replied: Aww poor Anthony. I am glad he is fine now.

Kaitlin'smom replied: awww dont feel bad they are bound to fall sometime. I remeber feeling horrible wen Kaitlin fell off the couch, she did not cry and fell on her bum but I still felt bad I could not grab her fast enough!

ediep replied: awww poor Anthony. You aren't a bad mommy, accidents happen. Hope he feels better soon

jem0622 replied: HUGS and KISSES to Mommy & Baby. It happens. They catch us off guard at times. Glad he could find comfort in snuggling with you.

kimberley replied: awwwwww ((((big hugs)))) to both of you. you are not a bad mommy... i don't think there are many moms anywhere that can't say they had a baby roll off or fall off something. both the boys have and it really only does take a second. once, i was standing right there when it happened but it happened so quick i didn't have time to catch him sad.gif glad anthony is okay!

amynicole21 replied: Poor guy... I'm glad he's ok! Don't be too hard on yourself... unfortunately it takes an accident to teach you what they are capable of sometimes. sad.gif

booey2 replied: Big hugs to all. I know about the 1 second rule, that is how Thomas broke his arm this summer. Boy did I learn my lesson.

Schnoogly replied: Oh no! I remember when Iain fell out of his swing before I could get him strapped in. I felt so awful! And he fell off my back when I was trying to get him in his back carrier yesterday--only a couple of feet though but I felt so bad!

Guess it's time to either put the bouncy on the floor or get rid of it! They sure get strong fast!

DansMom replied: Yeah, Daniel launched himself off the couch when he was just 6 weeks old. I had him well placed, and I still can't figure out how he did it! Some babies are active with their legs, while others are placid. Don't feel bad---something like that happens to every mom.

A&A'smommy replied: aww poor baby and momma!!! im glad he is okay, are you alright i know you must feel horrible but its not your fault so dont feel to bad your not a bad mommy by any means!!!! grouphug.gif

mummy2girls replied: AWWWW your not a bad mommy. things like that happens...When jenna was 5 weeks old she fell off the couch. im not sure how it happened...i was on the floor looking for something under the table and all of a sudden she is on the ground on her back screaming!! She was ok after i picked her up and cuddled. That awful im hurt cry just tore me apart...im glad anthony is ok...(((HUGS)))

MommyToAshley replied: <<<<HUGS>>>>

Don't beat yourself up! As you can see, we have all had something happen that we feel guilty about. I have been the most paranoid Mom -- always strap Ashley in, won't leave her in a room by herself (except in her crib), and I watch her like a hawk, but she STILL manages to have accidents. It really only does take a few seconds. Like my Ped said, they are made to take a few bumps and bruises for this reason.

Great big hugs to Mommy and Anthony! grouphug.gif

KatieLeigh79 replied: *Big Hugs* don't feel to bad sweetie, the other day I was eating lunch and nursing J.R. and i didnt realize that he had put one of his fingers in my mouth cause he normally plays with my hair/chin/necklace when he eats and i bit him blink.gif he screamed his head off for a few minutes and it made me wonder if i had broke the little guys finger - was an awful feeling, but after i let him skip his first nap (that was stupid of me) to make up for it.. He seemed to be just fine and it only had a small red spot for a few hours - anyone else ever done something strange like that? bawling.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: grouphug.gif Poor Anthony. I'm glad to hear that he is okay! Don't be too hard on yourself, as a mom I've done many things accidentally and they always turn out okay! You are a good mom! grouphug.gif
