Bad mother here...
C&K*s Mommie wrote: I raise my hand proudly and admit I am a bad mother. Our girls are still up, and watching a movie, here at almost 11 at night. We went out to eat, and after they eat fruit they get to have some ice cream, well it was sherbert but still something cold and sweet. It was after nine when I noticed the time, and decided since they will likely be on a sugar rush from the sherbert, why not make it worth the while. So as a treat, since Chris has gone out with co-workers tonight, we rented them a movie for them. They could not be happier! We rented Candy Land Adventure for them. So far they love it!
redchief replied: I don't think you could be a bad mother for spending some quality family time with your kids regardless of what time it is. Perhaps they'll sleep in for you guys in the morning.
Nina J replied: Sounds like heaps of fun. Your not a bad mother, you're a fun mother.
luvmykids replied: Fellow bad mother here
I sometimes make popcorn and we all pile on my bed (including the dogs LOL) and watch a movie (starting around 9 or 10pm) and all fall asleep together.
Cece00 replied: Count me in on that one. About a week ago, my 3 yr old woke up @ 8 pm after being in bed for about an hr...so I took him to the store with me, until 10:30, he had a BLAST (and he was pretty well behaved). When I got home, my 4 yr old & baby girl were awake with DH & playing in the living room. My 4 yr old was none too happy that I took his brother to the store, he said I shouldve woken HIM up to go, too. Hey, they slept a little late in the AM, it was worth it.
CantWait replied: Sounds like a nice mom and kids night to me. Hope you're all enjoying yourself.
mammag replied: Sometimes we have to break the rules to make special memories. I say that makes you an absolutely wonderful mother!
zdk753 replied: If your a bad mother so am I. It is midnight right now & 2 of mine are still awake. Right now they are watching a movie.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Thanks you guys. You were right, it was great quality time spent together, and a good memory to be made. Though their internal clocks were telling them it was way past time to go to bed, we enjoyed the movie.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Gee, if that's all it takes to be a bad mother. count me in. Olivia and I walked the dog at 11:30. We didn't get home from the VBS picnic til 9:30 and got around to walking the dogs about then. It's not unusual at all for us, though, to be up late. No one in our house goes to bed before 11 or 11:30pm.
Jeffs Wife replied: you're not a bad mom. you and your kids had a good time didn't you? that's all that matters, as long as no one gets hurt
7thHeaven replied: WHAT!?! You sound like a great mom! And I'm sure your girls will beg to differ with you! If they are having fun, that's all that counts sweetie!! I can't wait to do things like that with Sam!
holley79 replied: Was it any good.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I love my girls, but I am Candy Land'd out. The Great Lollipop Adventure needs to hurry up and find its way back to Blockbuster.
Kel and I got up around 3 this morning, and watched The Family Stone together, too. That was more great quality time together.
